Elmwood School - day school for girls with International Baccalaureate programs. The ratio of the number of students per teacher is 7 to 1. As in many Canadian schools, traditions Elmwood School goes back to the ideas of school education in British private educational institutions: children wear school uniforms, each student belongs to a separate "home".

The educational institution was founded in 1915 as the Rockcliffe Preparatory School by entrepreneur Theodora Philpot. Elmwood School is the only school in Ottawa with IB programs at all levels - for elementary, middle and high school. The curriculum is enhanced by field trips, master classes with invited experts and extra-curricular sections.

According to statistics, more than 50% of female students choose higher education in technical fields - they enter the faculties of mathematics and engineering. Scholarships Elmwood School

The educational institution tries to encourage the brightest and most talented students. The school offers two types of scholarships - for academic success and based on financial need. To receive a scholarship, it is necessary to pass a competitive selection, designed to identify female students with great potential.

In addition, the institution has a personal scholarship for the headmaster from 1982 to 1990, Margaret White. The scholarship is awarded once a year to one schoolgirl, the size of the scholarship is $ 5,000 per year, paid over four years.
