Fulford Academy is a small private boarding school in Brockville. It is truly international. Almost all students of the boarding school are foreign students. The private school of Fulford Academy is different from other Canadian institutions by its intricacy, family atmosphere. The school is also proud of high academic results of its students. Its graduates enter high-ranked universities, colleges of the country and the world.

One of the main features of the school is the emphasis on language preparation. English is studied as a foreign language. The linguistic aspect can be traced in all school disciplines, starting with mathematics, ending with art. This approach excludes situations when the student does not learn the material because of language misunderstanding.

The school attracts foreign students with its high-quality courses and convenient location. Fulford Academy covers an area of 1.6 hectares in Brockville. The school building is a historical building, decorated in the Old English style. Inside, it's full of British interior traditions. The building resembles an English classical boarding school. It locates on the river bank. From the windows there is a picturesque view of the city and the famous Brockville landmark - "A Thousand Islands". The language school is located a few kilometers from the border with the United States.

What are the most important questions when choosing a Canadian school?

Location, achievements (both academic and extracurricular), programs the school offers (AP and IB, for example). Cost, of course. Many people choose to visit the territory in advance, even before the application and enrollment, in order to understand whether it is comfortable on the campus, whether the child will feel at home here.

High School Support Program

If a student does not attend a desired higher school or university, this course will help to improve and strengthen knowledge. Students, as a rule, indicate the chosen specialization and the university, and the teachers of Fulford Academy individually form the curriculum of classes depending on the progress and the necessary subjects. The academic plan includes the requirements of a particular high school student chosen by the student. After the completion of the annual High School Support program, it is possible to re-enter the chosen higher educational institution. Credits based on the results of the study are taken into account in the future in college, so the student does not lose one year and can improve his knowledge.

The courses in the summer months at Fulford Academy have their own characteristics. These are not classical language courses, but an intensive program of preparation for studying in an English-language boarding school. The program will be useful to those children, whom the schools have already invited to study in September, but they know little about the Canadian education system. A week provides up to 40 language lessons (terms, conversation, group communication). Students also receive academic skills and learn methods of teaching. The lexical reserve after the completion of the summer course is sufficient for studying subjects in English.

On July 13 there is a massive arrival of children. The school allocates day for them for acquaintance and arrangement, and already from July, 15th the stage of intensive studying of language begins. The summer course ends on August 29, the next day the children leave the school grounds.

The list of additional expenses will include school expenses and a fee for registration at the Fulford Academy. Parents pay for the flight, school services when providing the curator, transfer and medical insurance. Prior to the start of studying, a deposit equal to the course cost is paid.

(review of Fulford Academy)

Frankly speaking, studying in Canada is the best thing that has happened to me in my life.

Fulford Academy - this is the coolest small Canadian school that accepts a great deal of international students! I heard various English from Americans, Chinese, French, Mexican.

It's super-beautiful, super-comfortable and super-all-designed. We are a little on the outskirts of big cities, but the nature is very beautiful and the territory near the school is big. There is a field for football and tennis courts. Inside everything is still beautiful, high quality, superhistorical! Very comfortable and tidy dormitory rooms, new clean showers, and dining room is light!

Yes, sometimes it is difficult to learn (especially at first it was difficult to fully switch to English in all areas), but now you understand that here study is not just years before the diploma, but an entire adventure, a real life and it's very cool.

My daughter is studying at Fulford Academy for the second year.

Sasha is fluent in English, although she did not show any obvious abilities for the language, she became interested in mathematics, physics. I planned to send my daughter to college in the USA after graduation, but Sasha flatly refuses, she wants to stay in Canada. Thanks teachers of the school for sensitive attitude to the child, and SMAPSE experts for the recommendation of the school, as well as accompanying the daughter in Brockville!
