Description of OCA Educational Center OCA Association Prague

The Czech Republic and especially Prague have long become one of the most popular places in Europe for education - the Education Association annually attracts students from all over the world who appreciate the affordable cost, convenient facilities, urban infrastructure and the quality of educational programs.

The Association's educational center started its work more than 10 years ago: the institution's specialists helped foreign students who arrived in the Czech Republic for various educational programs - gave valuable advice, oriented in the local educational system, advised on schools and universities. Such work helped to better understand the needs of foreign students in the Czech Republic, which eventually led to the opening of its own school - today OCA Prague operates as a permanent branch of the Center for Continuing Education at the University. Purkyne. From the moment of foundation until today, the number of schoolchildren in the center has increased more than 10 times - this showed the need for large-scale expansion and modernization: in 2014, the institution moved to a new modern building with excellent conditions for study and rest, meeting all high world educational standards.

Every employee and teacher of the Association's education center is not only a specialist of high qualification and great experience-it is also a true friend for students: responsible, understanding, helping in various situations, interested in transferring his knowledge and skills. A good teacher should not just lay some knowledge - he must instill in the student the urge to learn, the desire for self-improvement and the development of individual characteristics and abilities. From the moment of foundation to the present day, the school is directed by Radim Knobloch: he personally communicates with pupils and parents, participates in all school activities, international student exchange programs, organizes the Center's presentations at consulates and at various international seminars and lectures.

Language courses Association were developed as a result of cooperation with the Center for Continuing Education at the State University. Purkine: a lot of experience in this field (over 20 years) and qualified, attentive teachers helped to create excellent, effective educational programs. The received knowledge is constantly monitored and tested during numerous tests, checks and tests (a passing score is considered to be 65% of the performance). The complexity and versatility of programs makes it possible to actively develop all the main language skills: reading of original texts, writing and speaking (conversational and communicative skills), listening (hearing perceptions). Positively affects that all the studying and activities in the school are conducted exclusively in the Czech language, and each teacher is his native speaker - this helps foreign students for whom the Czech is not native, quickly overcome the language barrier and begin to speak and think in a foreign language.

Studying in Czech is especially available for Russian students: since the Czech language is part of the West-Slavic language group, it has much in common with Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian - many students and tourists note that most of the signs, announcements etc. They understand intuitively, after just a couple of days of stay in the Czech Republic. In addition, the territory of the country and the capital is still home to many immigrants from the CIS, who remember the basic phrases of the Russian language and can communicate with a Russian tourist or student. Thanks to these factors, Russian students already after about 2 months of studying in the Czech Republic understand about 80% of the information, and it is quite easy to speak fluently in the 4-5 month period - an excellent indicator, especially in comparison with other European countries!

In the process of studying, not only books and teaching aids are actively used, but also a large number of additional modern materials: games, audio and video files, articles from magazines, the media and the Internet, grammar exercises developed personally by teachers, based situations from real life and etc. The active, interactive nature of classes helps not only to increase the intensity of studying, but also make it more comfortable for students: lessons provide information on traditional culture, history and traditions, watch Czech films and listen to Czech music.

At the end of the semesters of the students, examinations are expected to determine the level of knowledge and understanding reached. Teachers are quite demanding and strict - it brings its positive results when enrolling in Czech universities: the students of the Center show excellent academic results, discipline, attentiveness, readiness for persistent and intensive studying

The Association's educational center is located in the very center of Prague, a ten minute walk from the famous Wenceslas Square. In walking distance you can find many religious attractions and tourist sites: the Church of St. Prokop, looking at the spire in the sky, the monument to Jan Zizka, Prague Castle, the television tower of the capital.

The Czech Republic is a kind of crossroads of European history and tradition, the heart of Central Europe. The geographical position opens wide opportunities for trekking, hiking and mountain skiing (the country is surrounded by low mountain ranges), active rest is developed: there is a very mild and moderate climate with warm summers and dull winters. The country is famous for its thermal and hot springs, health resorts - the legendary resort of Karlovy Vary has attracted people from all over the world for centuries, produces famous and popular cosmetics.

In 2004, the Czech Republic entered the European Union and signed the Schengen Agreement - this gave the country the opportunity to actively participate in student exchange programs. Students are attracted by the small cost of education (given that the standard of living here is quite high), affordable prices for accommodation and food. A weighty plus is a free university education in public universities (especially for those students who are already 26 years old). If you choose a private institution of higher learning, it will most likely also be more accessible than institutions in the CIS and Europe.

This program of preparation for Czech universities is very effective: it will perfectly suit those students who did not have the opportunity to undergo a classical one-year academic course (for example, too late to receive a visa). Mostly the program is designed for admission to private universities, but you can take additional lessons, increase the intensity and enter the state universities of the country. Subjects are also offered as electives - they are added to the main language course and give the opportunity to better prepare for admission to the chosen faculty or specialty, update and update the knowledge.

There is also an accelerated version of the program, intended for those foreign students who want to enroll in a Czech institution immediately after graduating from high school; Or for those who are looking for effective intensive courses of the Czech language and plans to significantly improve the language level in a short time. Continuing education on the course is possible after admission to the chosen university, adjusting its main timetable and adding language lessons (courses are conducted in the evening).

Training on subject blocks is an excellent option for those applicants who have already decided on the future career direction and specialty and want to better prepare for entering the profile faculty. The subjects and directions are grouped into thematic blocks (economic / technical / humanitarian): one priority block is usually chosen, but it is also possible to combine disciplines from several blocks, creating a personal, most convenient curriculum. Classes in core subjects take 5 hours weekly, the course is designed for 30 weeks (total 150 hours).

The cost of training is:

1) Standard language course (duration - 1 semester (17 weeks), beginning - February 1, intensity - 25 lessons per week) = 3399 €

2) Accelerated language course (duration - 13 weeks, beginning - June 1, intensity - 25 hours weekly) = 3199 €

3) Training in the field of:

  • Economic (mathematics, economic terminology, foreign language) = 300 €
  • Technical (mathematics, technical terminology, physics) = 300 €
  • English = 300 €
  • Humanities (social studies, the basics of social sciences) = 300 €.

In our educational center you can fully prepare for admission and study in Czech secondary schools. Education in the senior classes before entering the Czech University is a reasonable choice: it will give you time to adapt to the local educational and cultural environment, develop language and academic skills, deepen and update existing knowledge. In addition, it will save you from having to take the Czech language exam, which is compulsory for all foreign entrants, when you enter the university.

Usually in Czech schools, instruction begins in September and ends by the end of June. Students are engaged in 6 hours a day, twice a week there are additional two-hour classes in the afternoon - the total intensity of lessons is 32-35 hours per week.

For foreign students who want to study in Czech secondary schools, the first task is to study the Czech language - this is exactly what the Center prepares for.

Even before coming to Prague, the student starts online: there are 20 lectures for 90 minutes each - the first 8 hours of classes are taught by a Russian-speaking teacher, the rest - a Czech teacher. These online lessons help you get acquainted with the basics, the basics of a foreign language, learn more about the features of the national education system, about your future school (these facts will be useful even during a consular interview). After the online course is completed and the student arrives in Prague, the main intensive course starts at 250 hours. Beginning of classes usually in the summer (July 1 - August 31), they last throughout the year (from September 1 until the selected end). In the main, summer period, children are engaged on weekdays (Monday - Thursday), 20 hours weekly - the rest of the lessons are transferred to the main academic year (usually it is not more than 70 hours). Lessons during the school year can be held on any day of the week - they adjust to the basic school schedule of the child and serve as effective language facultatives.

Dates: July 1 - June 30

Tuition fee: 4199 €.
