Dublin International Foundation College (DIFC) is an institution that prepares students for admission to British or Irish universities. DIFC was opened in 1999 and since then has graduated more than 1500 students. As the exclusive center of NCUK, this educational institution guarantees admission to one of more than 60 partner universities in the world. NCUK is a consortium of leading higher education institutions that accompanies international students on their way from secondary to higher education.

The college is located on two campuses, the main of which is located in Dublin. In addition to receiving a quality British education, students will be able to see many of the sights of Ireland by enrolling in the DIFC.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The college has partnerships with several hotels in Dublin and Cork. Although many students prefer to stay with a host family, staff are happy to offer accommodation in local hostels and hostels. Accommodation in families is personal or common rooms, morning and evening meals, active practice of English and Irish languages, exchange of knowledge.

Binary Hub Hostel is within walking distance of study buildings, restaurants and cafés. There are single rooms with bathrooms, toilets for 471 students. Common areas in the building are recreation areas, kitchens, laundry, room and gym. The cost of living will be from 250 to 1000 € per month, depending on the selected amenities.

Activities Dublin International Foundation College

Students can use the entire infrastructure of the college: numerous sports facilities, playgrounds, recreation and self-study areas. Eight sports teams are actively developing in the institution:

Facilities and equipment at Dublin International Foundation College

DIFC has two campuses. The main one is located in Dublin, next to major world companies, the headquarters of European brands - almost all students study here. The second campus is located in Cork on an area of five acres and is open for education under the International Foundation Year program.

Admission dates and extra charges

The academic year at DIFC lasts from September to early summer, some courses last about six months: from January to June. Vacations for students are held on the days of international and public holidays, weekends - on Saturday, Sunday.

Additional costs:

  • Accommodation: from 250 to 1000€ per month
  • Meals: from 80 to 120€ per week
  • Public transport: €2.30 per trip, €30 per week using student card
  • Leisure: cinema tickets for 7-12 €, nightclubs – 7-15€ for entrance, etc.

On average, Dublin students spend about 27,600 a year. This amount includes rental housing and utilities, meals, books, laundry services, minimum treatment, transportation and tuition fees.

Enrolment process

To enroll in difc you need:

  • Fill in the online form,
  • Attach the required documents,
  • Expect a response within three days,
  • Pay the full tuition fee if the commission has approved the application,
  • Wait for the final letter of acceptance,
  • Apply for a visa, take out health insurance.

Perspectives

DIFC provides a choice of 60 prestigious universities in Ireland, Great Britain, USA, Australia, Europe and other countries. All students who successfully pass the qualifications of NCUK International Foundation Year or Master's Preparation receive a guaranteed place in one of the universities in their chosen specialty. Since 2010, the institution has helped more than 1200 graduates to enroll! Due to the high demand, difficulties in enrollment may arise only for future medical professionals, but the DIFC will help with this: since 2009, more than 300 students have been enrolled in medical higher schools.

More than 1200 people from 2010 to 2021 entered the best universities in Ireland, Hungary, Great Britain, Cyprus, the USA and other countries.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Applicants to the International Foundation Year course must have:

  • Age – from 17 years,
  • Knowledge of English at the level of 5.0 points IELTS (5.5 points for a medical specialty),
  • School certificate with the required number of points (depends on the country where the early entrant studied).

Requirements for admission to the Pre-Master's program:

  • Age – from 21 years,
  • Knowledge of English not lower than 5.0 IELTS points (5.5 points for applicants in January),
  • Diploma of the completed bachelor's degree program,
  • Experience if available.

Recruitment of new students takes place in September and January. Applicants enrolled begin their studies in September of the following year.
