Technological University of Dublin (TU Dublin) is the oldest higher education institution in Dublin. The history of the university began in 1887, when technical schools were founded. For several decades, they tried to get the title of university, but this was crowned with success only in the 2000s. Since 2019, TU Dublin has been operating as a general university with several institutes. Thanks to the merger, the university has several large urban campuses.

The number of students in recent years exceeds the mark of 28 000 people, among them you can meet more than 2800 representatives of 105 countries of the world. The number of teaching staff is about 3500 highly qualified teachers, 46% of whom are women.

The institution offers about 200 bachelor's, master's and other levels of higher education in various fields, including creativity and sports, humanities and social sciences, engineering and IT.

International Foundation & Pre-Sessional Programme

  • Age – from 16 years
  • The training period is 3 months or 1 year.

The International Preparatory Program (IFP) is a one-year program that prepares foreign applicants for admission to a university. Students improve their language skills and knowledge of specialized subjects before passing the final test and entrance tests to the university. After successful completion of the course and obtaining an international certificate, Foundation TU Dublin awards students a place in their chosen bachelor's program.

The International Bridging Program is an intensive program designed specifically for international students who require further training in English to enter a bachelor's, postgraduate or doctoral program at TU Dublin. This course is suitable even for those who pass the scores on the entrance tests, but just want to improve their knowledge of the English language. The duration of training will be three months.

Bridging & Pre-Sessional Programmes

  • Age – from 20 years
  • The training period is 6 months or 8 weeks.

The MSc in Computing Masters Qualifier course offers graduates of non-computer disciplines the opportunity to acquire the basic knowledge in computer concepts necessary to qualify for admission to the School of Computing . The philosophy behind the qualifier is that graduates of other disciplines will develop important transferable skills of analysis, communication and self-study and thus be able to quickly master computer knowledge.

The International Bridging Program at TU Dublin is  the same intensive program as future bachelors, but with an emphasis on admission to the magistracy. Students also study specialized subjects and English in order to successfully pass the entrance tests and get into the chosen master's course. This program lasts eight weeks.

The university offers several accommodation options:

Host family

Homestay accommodation is often the most economical and flexible option. Locals can accommodate students for a short term or for the entire school year. Usually, pupils pay 25-30 weeks during the school year at an average price of 165-200€ per week. The price includes accommodation in a private or common room, utility bills, two meals a day: breakfast and dinner.

On-campus residences

The university's dormitories are mainly located near academic buildings, public transport stops, cafes, restaurants and event venues. They offer single, double or shared rooms with bathtubs.

Activities Technological University of Dublin

The institution provides a wide range of opportunities for training, playing, maintaining fitness and health, acquiring leadership skills and participating in large-scale sports competitions. More than 40 sports clubs are open on each of the campuses:

Next, you should expect a response from the admissions committee, which will inform about the date of the orientation day and clarify additional questions.

Statistics from recent years, compiled by the TU Dublin Career Centre, report that 93% of graduates are employed or continue their studies within nine months of graduating from the university programme.

For admission to undergraduate programs, applicants will need:
