Design Institute in Dublin is deservedly considered one of the best universities in Ireland and the best profile university in the country. It was founded in 1992 and is located in the central part of the Irish capital - from the campus it is easy to reach any part of the city, suburbs and major international airports.

The University also works as an accredited BTEC exam center, accredited by QQI. It offers a variety of programs - from short courses to graduate programs and undergraduate courses - in all modern design directions:

Brief information: Short professional courses will suit young international students wishing to learn more about the peculiarities of the chosen specialty, and already working professionals who want to deepen their knowledge, gain new skills and improve their competitiveness in the world labor market. The Institute for Design in Dublin offers the following short-term programs:

  • Six-week courses:
    • Visual Merchandising;
    • Visual merchandising: advanced level;
    • 3D CAD (work with the design of interiors).
  • Ten-week courses:
    • Graphic design;
    • Fashionable design;
    • Web design;
    • Interior design;
    • Bayer's profession (purchases in the Fashion sphere).
  • Eight-week courses:
    • 2D CAD (interior design);
    • Profession of a personal stylist and a buyer;

Accommodation, meals, prices

Since the Institute does not have its own residences for students, specialists assist in finding the right accommodation option for the duration of their studies. You can choose the following options:

  • Room rental - in the central part of Dublin or in sleeping areas;
  • Rent one-room apartment or studio, apartments - also there are options in the center of the capital or in sleeping areas and suburbs.

International students also provide themselves with meals. The list of pocket expenses also includes:

  • Transportation;
  • Payment of utilities and electricity;
  • Sports and leisure;
  • Clothes and necessary household items.

Variants of educational programs (without accommodation and meals):

  • CAD certificate program (2D or 3D);
  • Diploma program (1-2 years, HNC or HND);
  • Short courses and continuing education;
  • Bachelor's degree (3 years).

  • Round trip airfare;
  • Transfer in both directions;
  • Visa fees and services, translation and certification of documents;

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

The main requirement for incoming students is, of course, a fairly high level of English. HNC and HND programs will require an IELTS level of 5.5 and higher, the remaining courses - IELTS from 6.0 and above. In addition, the following documents are submitted to the admission committee:

  • A copy of the passport;
  • Personal resume and confirmed work experience, feedback and recommendations from employers (if possible);
  • Certificate + report card with grades from previous place of study.

Recommendations on when to apply

- some schools have a specific time frame (September-November - please specify an individual school)
- some schools require tests in several stages (UKISET, internal tests of the school: English, mathematics, logics, subjects, interview, some require a personal visit)

- for Foundation and Pathway programs, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are usually required, respectively

- recommended submission one year before the start of the program,
- the deadline normally closes in January, for TOP HEIs and, as a rule, in March in other universities
- for a bachelor, a Foundation or Pathway preparatory program a completed A-level, IB, High School + IELTS / TOEFL are required
- for Masters you need a graduated higher education, in some cases you need a pre-Masters program
- MBA requires completed higher education, work experience preferably at least 2-3 years, etc.
