David Game College, London City is a college on the campus of which English language and personal and professional development programs are held during the summer months.

Students from 14 to 17 years old have an amazing opportunity to spend two weeks on campus at one of England's leading colleges. This time will give children valuable knowledge in the direction they are interested in, will allow them to immerse themselves in the everyday life of English-speaking students, learn from qualified teachers who are native speakers, see the sights and understand whether studying in England is suitable for them.

As part of unique summer programs, students will be able to explore career opportunities in the fields of medicine, engineering, law, and entrepreneurship. In parallel with specialized classes, English lessons are organized for students, aimed at effectively improving and education existing knowledge. All the skills learned are honed in a variety of environments: in classrooms, on campus, during field trips.

The summer camp offers excellent conditions for both learning and other pastimes: a residence, a canteen, walking and playgrounds are available to all course participants.

Educational process

English language instruction takes place according to the CLIL system, which provides a holistic approach to learning. It is based on four components: content, cognition, communication, and culture. Thanks to this method, students memorize information more effectively, move to the conversational level more easily, and do not lose motivation to further study English.

Things to know about

Students will follow a strict schedule of the day for two weeks, from waking up to going to bed. They attend classes, excursions, and campus events together, but have free time that they can devote to relaxation, socializing, or hobbies. At all events, children are not left alone - they are always looked after by educators, staff, and teachers of the camp.

Summer Camp: Engagers

  • Age – 14-17 years old,
  • The duration of the training is from two to four weeks.

The Engagers Summer Course offers students to delve into A-Level subjects and areas of interest to children: students independently choose a set of disciplines, creating an individual schedule.

Pupils will study four subjects per week, but can supplement them with a few more for a change. In the classes, students will gain a solid foundation in key subject topics, improve their academic skills, master theory and practice, and gain experience in teamwork on projects.

All lessons are taught in English, which allows children to improve their conversational level, enrich their vocabulary and overcome the barrier thanks to self-confidence.

In addition to the academic component of the program, there are comfortable accommodation conditions, three meals a day, and a variety of campus and off-site events.

Summer Camp: Career Pathways

  • Age – 14-17 years old,

The Career Pathway program is designed to give students a hands-on perspective on their future careers. Students will have the opportunity to gain exciting experience in an industry they are interested in, with career guidance that will help them understand how to succeed in their chosen career.  

The Career Pathways Summer Course has four focus areas:

  • Academy of Engineering

Students will gain basic knowledge in the subjects necessary for a successful career as an engineer, study various areas of engineering: civil, mechanical, electrical, chemical. The program will be based on mathematics and physics.

The course is aimed at developing leadership skills, team building skills, making presentations, and public speaking. Students will be able to apply these and other specialized skills in practical classes, during visits to engineering companies and communication with their managers, at receptions at the best universities in the UK.

  • Law Academy

The Law Academy is designed for future lawyers and attorneys who would like to get acquainted with key legal concepts, legal practice. The course will help students develop the logic and reasoning necessary to build legal arguments in the courtroom.  

The program provides training from current industry experts who will introduce students to various areas of law: criminal, civil, corporate, human rights, international, and family law. Knowledge is gained not only in theoretical lessons, but also in practice: by participating in debates, public speaking, and discussions. The course includes visits to the Crown Court and the Old Bailey, acquaintance with the work of the best lawyers, master classes and lectures from professionals.

  • Medical Academy

The course is based on basic knowledge of medicine, includes practical laboratory work, the study of infectious diseases, immunology, neurobiology, and technologies in medicine. Students will attend clinical seminars with current doctors, practical classes in biology and chemistry, lectures on medical ethics, and first aid workshops.  Off-campus, children will have the opportunity to visit leading medical schools in the UK, interact with university students and doctors with many years of experience.

  • Academy of Business and Entrepreneurship

The course will introduce students to a career in the world of global business. Experienced teachers will give them an idea of what it means to manage a large corporation, lead a team in different regions, participate in competitions for investment funds, manage the profits and losses of large companies.  Students will gain knowledge about the global economy and large corporations, learn about social responsibility and business sustainability, They will take part in several seminars, visit leading companies and communicate with their managers.

At the end of each of the specialized courses, students will have a final work that will allow them to receive a certificate confirming their excellent knowledge and skills.

In addition to a meaningful academic plan, each of the programs includes entertainment: campus events, field trips. Pupils will have free time for socializing, hobbies and relaxation, especially if they choose accommodation in a comfortable college residence.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students of summer courses can choose the most suitable format for completing the program: with accommodation in residence or a day stay on campus.

If the student wishes to live on the study grounds, they will be accommodated in a single room with two or three separate bedrooms. The room is an apartment with a shared shower room and kitchen. Bedrooms have comfortable double beds, storage cupboards, desks and underfloor heating. The residence has a limited number of rooms with private bathrooms (the bedroom equipment is the same as in standard apartment rooms).

Residents of the guesthouse are provided with three meals a day, prepared daily from fresh ingredients. The team of chefs adheres to the norms of proper, balanced and healthy nutrition for teenagers, provides an alternative menu for those who have special dietary, medical or religious needs.

Activities David Game College Summer Camp, London City

The leisure program is designed not only to improve students' academic skills and prepare them for the future, but also to give children the opportunity to make new friendships, increase their self-confidence, and enjoy every day getting to know the vibrant city, the customs of the locals.

A variety of excursions will allow students to immerse themselves in the rich history and culture of London, surrounded by iconic landmarks and cultural centers. From exploring historical sites, walking through natural beauty to entertainment activities, visiting restaurants and souvenir shops, students will gain comprehensive knowledge and positive emotions from spending their summer holidays in London! On weekends, all pupils go outside the city: to Oxford, Windsor, Brighton and Cambridge.

For those who participate in career programs, extracurricular time is tailored to interests and ambitions: students will go on specialized trips related to their chosen destination, including visits to prestigious universities.

Entertainment is also provided on the campus of the camp: parties, master classes, intellectual games, movie nights and much more takes place every evening.

Facilities and equipment at David Game College Summer Camp, London City

The David Game College campus is a two-minute walk from the famous Tower of London, a five-minute walk from the National Bank of England. The Shard, Borough Market, St. Paul's Cathedral and the Tate Modern are also located near the study area. 

The campus embodies both historical charm and modern comfort: newly renovated residence rooms, 60 classrooms with interactive whiteboards, scientific laboratories with modern equipment contrast with the exterior of the academic buildings. Students have access to art studios, dance halls, areas for self-study and relaxation, and a large dining room. The area is safe, under round-the-clock security, there are walking areas, places for events, communication and snacks in the fresh air.

Admission dates and extra charges

Summer programs on the David Game College campus are held in June-July. Students will spend two weeks at David Game College, they can choose the format of education: with accommodation or only full-time attendance of classes. The cost of the course without accommodation in residence includes academic classes, necessary study materials, lunches in the dining room and excursions. If the student chooses the live-in format, the price will additionally include three meals a day, health insurance, campus events, and airport transfers.

Additional costs will be required for the following services:

  • Setting up the program: selection of leisure activities,
  • Taking an online English proficiency test,
  • Arrival at the campus for accommodation in the residence, start of education.
