Description of Colegio Europeo de Madrid

  • Established: 1998
  • Location: Madrid, Spain
  • Students age: 2 to 18 years old
  • Language of instruction: English, Spanish
  • Type of study: full time, half board.

Colegio Europeo de Madrid (CEM) is a Spanish college offering quality full-cycle education at the European level for children and schoolchildren from 0 to 18 years old. In fact, it is a private educational center where training for boys and girls is offered in two languages.

The founder of the European College of Madrid in 1998 was Martina Lafarge - she is the creator of the BEBIN training program, or “Smart Child”. The first kindergarten of this format was opened in 1991.

CEM College has its own educational project, which allows students to fully reveal their potential not only in studies, but also as an adult independent person. The program of the European College of Madrid is based on 5 basic principles of education:

  • Communication
  • Technology and Innovation
  • Languages
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Sport.

Since we live in a global society focused on international interaction, the study of a new language and culture of another country is an indispensable element of the daily program. This includes presentations, grammar lessons in English and Spanish, and conversation classes. A qualified and motivated team of teachers with the necessary experience in teaching foreign students works at the school with children.

The European College of Madrid has the necessary accreditation to prepare students for official tests in English, French, German or Chinese. CEM is also certified as the Cambridge Exam Preparation Center.

CEM College is part of the Cognita Education Network family of schools. In total there are more than 77 around the world, and in Spain the European College is one of the 7 educational institutions of the network.
