IB Diploma Programme (IB DP) Key Stage 5: Sixth Form Year 12-13

  • Students age: 16-18 years.

The International Baccalaureate, a universal international course, is an excellent preparation for a university in any country in the world. The Diploma Programme is an IB stage designed for high school students aged 16-18 and preparing them for admission to the chosen university. It is considered a full-fledged alternative to A-level.

An important advantage of IB is the interdisciplinary connections between subjects: various disciplines are taught not in isolation from each other, but in maximum conjunction. This gives teenagers the opportunity to better understand the interconnections of the modern scientific (and not only) world, in general, to study better and more effectively. In addition to academic development, IB DP students also receive general mental (critical, analytical thinking), learn to write an extended essay (4000 words), take a course in theory of knowledge (TOK), as well as the CAS program (Creativity, Service, Activity) aimed at extracurricular development (sports, creativity, volunteering, charity and social work).

Curriculum

Each student chooses for himself 6 subjects from 6 subject groups: three are studied at a standard level of complexity, 3 at an increased, in-depth level. If desired, you can choose two items from Group No. 1, and instead of an item from Group No. 6, choose options from groups No. 3 or No. 4 - the main thing is that the total number is six.

  2. Foreign (world) languages: English (level B), Spanish for beginners.
  3. Society and Personality: History, Business and Management, Psychology, Geography.
  4. Sciences: biology, chemistry, physics, IT.
