Central Hesse Technical University of Applied Sciences (THM) is a German higher education institution that provides bachelor's and master's degree programs. It is one of the oldest in terms of the date of foundation.
The history of the university began in 1838, when the Giessen School of Technical Art was opened, in which artisans were trained in reading, drawing, and simple calculations. Over the next 15 years, other institutions joined the school, faculties were opened, and new curricula were created. The university was officially established in 1971.
In recent years, the number of students has exceeded 16,000 people, and the teaching staff is represented by about 4,000 highly qualified specialists in various fields.

On the campus in Giessen, 10 dormitories of different comfort have been built. For placement in them are prepared:

Studying at THM is possible on a full-time and remote basis. The academic year contains three semesters: autumn, spring, summer. During the summer semester, sports and recreation courses are organized from April 25 to July 15. Holidays are held on public holidays, in January and August.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
You should apply to the university at least four weeks before the deadline.

For admission you will need:

- Official transcripts of final exams
- Transcript of the university or faculty, if the student has already studied somewhere
- Certificate of Proficiency in German
- Personal documents: passport, residence permit, visa, medical insurance
- Registration fee – 75€.

School graduates who have never studied at a university before have the opportunity to take a preparatory course lasting one year. Before starting his studies in Germany, the applicant must study for at least one year in his country.
The one-year Studienkolleg course gives admission to those who do not have the qualification for direct admission to the university. The mandatory entrance test requires a level of knowledge of the German language not lower than B2. During the course, applicants are enrolled in THM.
