Ardingly College Summer Camp operates on the basis of one of the best private schools in the UK: Ardingly College provides excellent education, excellent conditions for living, studying and leisure, is famous for its opportunities for sports and outdoor activities. It's almost 250 acres of land less than an hour's drive from London – it's a convenient, pleasant place to spend your summer holidays. Easy access to Brighton, Tonbridge and other interesting cities in the UK.

Summer camp at Ardingly College is an opportunity to try to live like a British boarding student, to appreciate all the possibilities of a traditional high-class boarding school.

Classic Programme

  • Age: 8-17 years
  • Classes up to 15 students
  • 15 lessons per week.

A classic English course that will help children quickly develop all their basic language skills. Before the start of classes, everyone undergoes online testing and is divided into groups according to the level of knowledge so that the training is as effective and convenient as possible. At the end of the course, everyone undergoes a final test (allows you to track progress and results achieved), receives a brand certificate and celebrates the Award Ceremony. Educational materials and books are already included in the price of the program.

Classic Plus Academy

This extended version of the course includes the chosen sport of rugby, football or choreography:

  • 2-week program – +5 afternoon lessons
  • 3-week program – +7 lessons in the afternoon.

The two-week course already includes:

  • Full day tour of London OR a trip to London KidZania Park
  • Full day excursion to Canterbury
  • Excursion to Brighton for the whole day.

In the three-week course, 2 full-day excursions are added - to London and Oxford.

Premium Programme

  • Age: 12-17 years
  • Classes up to 15 students
  • 15 lessons per week.

The program is for students who want to get the most out of their summer vacation! The standard course includes 15 lessons per week and is complemented by a variety of extracurricular entertainment and developmental activities (all tutorials and materials are already included in the price). Before the start of the course, all children undergo online testing and distribution into groups, and at the end they write the final test to see the results achieved, receive a personal certificate at the festive Award Ceremony.

Premium Plus Academy

This course, in addition to English lessons and a rich extracurricular program and excursions, also includes sports training - rugby, football or dance classes:

  • For 2 weeks – 5 lessons (afternoon)
  • For 3 weeks — 7 lessons.

The two-week course already includes:

  • Full day tour of London OR a trip to London KidZania Park
  • Full day excursion to Canterbury including The Cathedral
  • Full day excursion to Brighton, including a visit to the British Airways i360 observation tower
  • Excursion to Portsmouth for the whole day: historical docks, the ship "Victoria".

The three-week programme is complemented by a full-day tour of London.

Price (per week):

  • Homestay (12+ years) = 880£
  • Accommodation in a residence (8+ years) = 1020£.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Residences on campus – 8+ years

Cozy rooms for 1-2 people (there are also common rooms on request). Showers and toilets in a ratio of 1:5 to students, bed linen is provided, but students bring their own towels. In the public domain - a cozy living room for relaxation with upholstered furniture, books, games. Each student in the room has his bed, desk, wardrobe. Laundry is paid separately (4 £ for refueling the machine), cleaning is carried out twice a week (bathrooms are cleaned every day).

Host families – 12+ years

Trusted families whose homes are no more than 35 minutes from the school (transport card is paid 7 days a week). Rooms for 1-2 people are offered.

Activities Ardingly College Summer Camp

Students at lunchtime and evening hours on campuses are offered:

Ardingly College Summer Camp offers several additional options for each program – you can choose to your liking!

Young Manager

  • Age: 14-17 years
  • Number of students per class: 15-20 people
  • Level of English: intermediate (B1) and above
  • Minimum group to start the course: 12 people
  • Price: 50£/person per week.

Summer management program for teenagers is 30 hours of additional classes, designed for 2 weeks. What is this course about?

  • Active development of oral speech, listening skills in English
  • Development of fluency, communication skills
  • Teaching written business English – in a business or academic context
  • Expanding the thematic vocabulary, useful phrases, terms, idioms
  • Developing the ability to negotiate
  • Business etiquette.

Basically, the program conducts practical classes - the theory is immediately introduced into living situations and tested in practice, a large number of discussions, group projects (for example, how to open your own business) are conducted.  Program blocks:

Introduction to the business world = 6 hours

  • How to make a resume, properly communicate with HR and interviewer
  • Teamwork, dynamics of work in the group
  • How to promote your own business idea.

Market launch = 24 hours

Students are divided into groups of 5 people and together come up with a product or service. Using modern technologies (media, digital, advertising, marketing), each team creates a promotional company for its product / service, focusing on a given budget (during the presentation, it tells how and what the budget was spent on). At the end of the course, the team makes a final presentation (at the same time honing the skills of public speaking!) and demonstrates its business idea to other teams, the winner is determined, who receives awards at the Graduation Ceremony.

In this block, students study:

  • Social networks and business skills in them: FB, Twitter, YouTube, bloggers
  • Work with the modern consumer
  • Negotiating in English
  • Finance & Management
  • Preparation and demonstration, promotion of a business plan
  • Public speaking, persuasion skills
  • Advertising, marketing, branding
  • Teamwork skills.

Junior Reporter Club

  • Age of students and level of English: any
  • Students per class: 15-20 people
  • Minimum group to start the course: 12 people
  • Price: 35£/person per week.

6 active interactive workshops for 2 weeks of classes. Junior Reporter Club is perfect for students who want to maximize their creativity, leadership skills, who want to share their ideas with peers from around the world. What is the aim of this mini-course:

  • Developing creative skills
  • Work individually and in a group
  • Active improvement of English: written and oral speech, listening (speech by ear)
  • Presentation and protection of your own ideas, the yr to defend your opinion and point of view.

Basically, these are practical exercises - any theory will immediately be integrated into team projects, group discussions. Students will try different genres of communication and journalism:

  • General discussion
  • Work with photos and videos
  • Interview
  • Reports
  • Presentation.

At the end of the course, each student prepares a personal project – a small issue of a podcast or an article for a magazine/newspaper.

KidZania Experience

  • Grades of 15-20 students
  • Age: 10-14 years
  • Minimum group to start the course: 15 people
  • Price: 40£/person per week (entrance ticket to KidZania London included, transfer, 6 hours of extra lessons).

Exciting mini-course: 6 hours of interactive lessons in the classroom + 4 hours at the KidZania London amusement park! This course will help children 10-14 years old to start choosing what they would like to do in the future, what profession to get, what to connect their lives with; they will be able to become more aware of their goals and aspirations. What is studied in the mini-course?

  • How to start a career
  • Advantages and features of different professions, spheres of work
  • Exploring personal goals and desires, understanding how different work areas will be able to reveal your talents and abilities more vividly
  • Improving personal and academic skills
  • The study of their own abilities, natural inclinations.

At the end of the course, students will understand:

  • What skills and abilities of need for a particular profession
  • What profession will be able to financially provide them best
  • How to make a budget and personal financial plan, manage real risks and your money
  • How to improve communication skills, speech
  • What abilities they personally possess, what interests prevail, how they can develop them.

Rugby Academy

Rugby Academy is one of the options for supplementing the Premium program. Qualified coaches will conduct theoretical classes and training on the field (minimum 2): passes, movement strategy, ball management, game tactics and rules, ball transfer. At the end of the course, students will have a general tournament, friendly games to hone their skills.

What you need to take with you:

  • Sports uniform: T-shirts, shorts/training pants
  • Socks
  • Water bottle
  • Athletic shoes (astroturf on the field): not specialized rugby boots, regular sneakers will suffice.

Football Academy

The Football Academy at Ardingly College is a wonderful, certified, carefully designed training course with professional coaches (they work out with children two hours a week).

  • Ball selection
  • Distant and accurate shots.

At the end of the program, friendly games and tournaments are organized, where everyone can show their abilities in their favorite game.

Classes are conducted on the grass field for 5, 7 and 11 players, all communicate with each other only in English.

What you need to take with you:

  • Sports uniform: T-shirts, shorts/training pants
  • Socks
  • Water bottle
  • Athletic shoes (for Astroturf coverage): not specialized rugby boots, regular sneakers will suffice. Special football boots (with spikes) and shin pads are not mandatory, but are acceptable.

Dance Academy

The dance academy will allow summer camp students to work with the best choreographers, show their talents and improve their skills. There are 2 sessions of 80 minutes with a 20-minute break. Participants of the program will work in different styles:

  • Salsa
  • Hip Hop
  • Contemporary (modern dance)
  • Jazz.

What you need to take with you:

  • Sports uniform: T-shirts, shorts/training pants
  • Socks
  • Water bottle
  • Sports shoes (sneakers).

On campus, the camp participants are prepared with everything necessary for a pleasant study and accommodation:

  • Gatwick = 20 minutes by car
  • London Luton = 90 minutes
  • London Heathrow = 60 minutes.

Admission dates and extra charges

Course start dates:

  • July 4 = rates for 2,3,4 weeks
  • July 18 = courses for 2-3 weeks
  • July 25 = 2-week courses
  • August 1 = courses for 1-2 weeks.

Can be included in the bill for accommodation:

  • Deposit for the safety of things and property in the residence = 50£
  • Unreasonable fire alarm = 100, use of fire extinguisher = 150£
  • Loss of keys = £100.

The price is not included and is paid separately:

  • Trinity Exam (group of 15 or more, in an accredited centre) = 130£/person
  • Extra night: standard room = £45, with personal amenities = £55
  • Individual lessons (on request) = 70£/lesson.
