Zhengzhou University (ZZU) is the first comprehensive university in China, founded in 1956. Over the long history of the institution, many key moments have occurred: inclusion in the "Project 211" in 1996, the creation of a "new" ZZU based on the connection of several universities into one in 2000.
At the moment, about 5700 outstanding scientists, experts of various industries teach at the university. Among them there are such iconic personalities as Professor Ji Wenfu - a historian and philosopher, Professor Ho Binquan - a physicist, Academician Zhong Xiangchong - an academician-expert in the field of refractory technologies from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc.
