XCL World Academy is a school that offers continuing education in the academically strong and challenging International Baccalaureate (IB) program and several national programs in the United States and the United Kingdom. Here, students have the opportunity to go all the way through school from kindergarten to the end of grade 12. Completion of education will be one of three diplomas:
- International Baccalaureate Diploma (IB Diploma),
- A high school diploma accredited by WASC and equivalent to a high school diploma in the United States (High School Diploma)
- Diploma of the American program with AP qualification.

Educational process
International students whose first language is not English are provided with additional EAL courses. Classes are included in the price of the program for students in grades 9-12, and children in the junior and middle departments attend lessons for an additional fee.
The language program is based on the individual characteristics of each child and is aimed at developing speaking, speech and auditory skills. The education lasts from 6 to 12 months and is organized several times a week.

Nursery

The kindergarten program for children 2-3 years old is an excellent start in the development of young researchers. Students are offered creative, engaging and age-appropriate play activities in a specially equipped learning space. The learning process aims to awaken the child's imagination, creativity and curiosity, develop his self-confidence and self-management skills.
Play is one of the most important ways in which young children acquire the necessary knowledge and skills. Solving puzzles, learning to care for and share things, observing and planning, listening and speaking your thoughts and ideas – these and many other forms of communication are at the heart of the academic process.
The school provides a flexible school day tailored to the needs of parents and their children. Teachers are in regular contact with families to discuss their child's progress, advise on tactics for developing skills in a homely atmosphere, and share their impressions. Kindergarten education is a three-way process where parents, children, and teachers are firmly connected by a common goal.
Studying in small classes of up to 14 children gives teachers the opportunity to monitor each pupil and pay maximum attention to him. There are usually two teachers in groups who distribute students among themselves.
Early Years: Pre-KG to KG2

The early childhood development program is designed to encourage them to be curious, creative, collaborative, kind, and considerate. Students learn by combining previous and new knowledge and forming basic literacy and numeracy skills.
At this stage of schooling, the process begins to be built according to the IB PYP International Baccalaureate program. Children are given the opportunity to study both in a fully English course and in a bilingual one: Chinese (Mandarin) and English.
The early learning program focuses on purposeful play, active learning, creativity, and critical thinking. Teachers encourage children to actively explore the world through puzzles, experiments, and art. Students are involved in an academic collective process every day: children play, discuss, talk, walk and explore together with their classmates.
Young students are given the opportunity to develop their passion for science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), discover the world around them, see patterns and connections between different ideas and subjects, develop problem-solving and analytical skills. Qualified teachers will explain the basics of these areas in the format of play and research, keeping children interested in learning.
Primary Years: 1-5 Grades

The primary school program is a stimulating and academically challenging environment that fosters curiosity, creativity and the ability to think in the child, instills a love of learning for life. From grades 1 to 5, students are taught according to the structure of the IB PYP International Baccalaureate.
Students spend most of the school day with their class teacher. Each teacher is assisted by a fully qualified partner teacher, working together to provide individual attention to each student. Students also have teachers in selected subjects in art, physical education, and language learning. Subject areas are not taught in isolation, but are mixed to create experiences that reflect the real world. Careful support of children helps them to gradually take responsibility for their own learning, the development of intelligence and personal interests.
Foundational English Programme (FEP): Grades 6-9
- Age - from 12 to 15 years,
- The term of study is up to a year.
This program is offered to international students who want to enroll in core classes but do not have sufficient knowledge of the English language.
The course is an intensive language training lasting from one to two semesters. Classes will prepare students for admission to regular classes through effective study: about 65% of the school day is devoted to English, and the rest of the time is devoted to the holistic development of the student. At the same time, students attend lessons in mathematics, science, art and music, physical education.
You can go through the program both in parallel with the main one and separately.
Middle Years: 6-10 Grades
- Age - from 12 to 16 years,
- The term of study is five years.
Learning in middle school is a unique period in a child's development, including intellectual, physical and emotional growth. Based on the IB MYP International Baccalaureate, the Middle Years curriculum is balanced and expands on students' existing knowledge, understanding and experience. Academic excellence flourishes along with art, music and sports, the personal interests of each of the students.
Over the course of five years, students will study eight subject groups:
- English Language and Literature,
- Language learning: Spanish, French, Mandarin or more complex English,
- Individuals and societies,
- Science
- Mathematics
- Art: theater, media, music,
- Design
- Physical culture and health.
Any of the disciplines is taught together with others: an interdisciplinary approach will help students gain applied experience and use knowledge in everyday life.
University and career orientation is introduced into the program from the 8th grade. Qualified consultants guide students, talking about various professions and career opportunities, conduct master classes and lectures on the further educational path at the university.
In the last academic year of high school, students perform a mandatory personal project - a research paper on a topic of interest to them. It is evaluated collectively: by teachers, classmates and the student himself.
Secondary Years: 11-12 Grades

The last two years of school are an important time for high school students as they prepare for the next stage of their educational journey.
Each student is unique, and the aspirations of students are also different from each other, which is why World Academy offers an academically challenging and rigorous IB DP diploma program, allowing students to develop their interests in academic disciplines. Upon graduation, students will receive an internationally recognized International Baccalaureate Diploma, as well as a high school diploma accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
IB DP combines a variety of standard-level subjects with an in-depth study of some of them. The list of disciplines under study includes six groups:
- First language and literature: Chinese, Japanese, English,
- Second foreign language: Mandarin, French, Spanish, Chinese, English,
- Individuals and Societies: History, Economics, Ecological Systems and Society, Business Management, Psychology,
- Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Ecological Systems and Societies, Sports and Health Science, Design Technology,
- Mathematics: analysis and approaches, applications and interpretations,
- Art: visual, theatrical, musical.
Students applying for any of the diplomas choose several subjects from the list, combining them with each other, and then pass the final exams.
Holiday Camps
- Age - from 3 to 16 years,
- The duration of training is one week.
The camps at the school offer students from 3 to 16 years old exciting programs for a fun vacation throughout the year.
Thematic programs lasting one week will help children develop their interests, gain new emotions and skills. Regardless of whether the child plays sports or likes to learn new technologies, there is always a program suitable for him in the camp.
In the summer months, from June to August, more than a dozen thematic courses are held on campus: sports, technical, creative, research and universal. Some of them are:
- Multi-active camp (3-8 years old): educational and creative activities, football, games, basketball and dance,
- Children's entrepreneurship (8-12 years old): development of knowledge in creativity and innovation, self-confidence in the field of business,

Accommodation, meals, prices
The school operates in a daytime mode, without providing students with a place to stay.
Students are provided with quality meals in the cafeteria. Thanks to the collaboration with Mycelium Catering, which is headed by Michelin-starred chef Emmanuel Stroobant, students enjoy balanced, healthy and delicious food every day. The lunch menu is developed under the supervision of the chef and with the help of a team of qualified specialists with many years of experience in the field of nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Children receive dishes without allergens, pork and lard, excessive amounts of sugar.
Dishes are pre-ordered from the menu, the products arrive at the school in fresh form, then the dishes are prepared immediately in the format of portions. Students visit The Food Garden Dining Hall on campus at a designated time for the class to relax during a break between classes and interact with peers.
There is also a parent café on site, where school guests can enjoy hot drinks and pastries while waiting for the end of lessons. Access to the café is also open to students: students in grades 11 and 12 throughout the day, and students in grades 4 to 10 from 8:30 to 15:30.

The XCL World Academy campus is located in a beautiful area of 5 hectares, located in the heart of the small town of Yishun. The school's landscaping is designed by award-winning architects Grant Associates, who have been nominated for WAF World Architecture Festival Awards (they also worked on Singapore's famous Bay Gardens). In 2021, the institution received the BCA Green Mark Gold Award, a testament to its environmental efforts and commitment to environmental stewardship.

The XCL World Academy study area is a 20-minute drive from central Singapore, which is easily accessible by car and public transport, including the metro. On school days, the school provides its pupils with buses for daily trips to and from school.
Admission dates and extra charges
The academic year at XCL World Academy lasts from August to June. Students study in semesters, between which small tests are held to monitor progress. The standard school week runs from Monday to Friday, with students visiting campus for special events on some weekends.
A brief schedule of the weekday of children:
- 8:10-8:45 – morning gathering on the territory in specially designated places,
- 8:20 a.m. – classrooms open,
- 8:30-15:30 – academic classes for all students.
Students are not allowed to be on campus before 8:10 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m.
Some of the additional costs are:

- Administrative fee for admission - 5200 S$ (3916 $),
- EAL classes – 3250 S$ ($2448) for students in grades 1-8,

Any of the three diplomas provided to graduates upon graduation will provide students with successful admission to their chosen English-speaking university. Students who have received an IB diploma in 100% of cases receive scores higher than those declared in the form of passing at the university. Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
Admission to the relevant programs is carried out for children from 2 to 17 years old. For admission, all foreign applicants must provide:
- Personal documents: passport, health insurance and vaccination card, visa or residence permit,
- Academic report: current and previous years of study,
- English Language Proficiency Certificate: This is for staff to determine if a prospective student needs learning support.
All documents must be translated into English.
Scholarships XCL World Academy International School
Families of students already enrolled in the school are offered discounts on their siblings' tuition:
- Two subsequent children - 10%,
- The third and next children - 15%.
In addition, newly enrolled siblings of any child already enrolled in XCL World Academy will receive an additional discount of S$5200.
