Description of The Language Academy TLA (Fort Lauderdale Language School)

The Language Academy TLA is one of the leading American language schools, founded in 1998: today it has branches in many US cities, as well as summer language camps for teens 14-18 years old in Los Angeles, Miami Gardens and Fort Lauderdale. During the year the school offers effective and balanced academic programs for various groups of students, implementing a personal approach to each student and employing only qualified, experienced teachers.

The Language Academy TLA (Language School Fort Lauderdale) aims to offer each student a lesson in close connection with his personal and academic needs, preferences and abilities, comprehensively developing all key language skills:

  • Grammar
  • Reading
  • Auditing (hearing perceptions )
  • Vocabulary
  • Written language
  • Speaking (spoken English)
  • Phonetics (correct pronunciation Accent correction)
  • Improve communication skills.

In addition, the school constantly organizes a variety of entertainment, leisure and sightseeing activities, which help students not only to practice in free, informal conditions, but also to immerse in American culture and traditions, to learn more about the unique features and mentality of the United States.

Before the beginning of the studying, all students undergo an introductory test, which determines their initial level of knowledge and abilities: by results they are allocated to the corresponding level of the group, which makes the study more productive and comfortable. In addition, students-beginners are waiting for a personal interview with a senior teacher who will also check his level of preparation. The first day of the school's stay also includes a sightseeing tour and an introduction to the campus, with the features and benefits of living in Fort Lauderdale. Weekly testing and control tests are conducted to track the progress of students, on any given day a student will be able to take individual counseling or additional lessons from teachers.

All without exception, teachers are the native speakers of the language: when they take office they must submit a document on higher education (minimum bachelor), certificates and accreditations in the field of teaching English as a foreign language, recommendations and summaries. All teachers have permits and extensive experience working with foreign students and international groups.

The Language Academy TLA is located in the famous large resort of Fort Lauderdale (population of about 165 thousand people ). It is a real "American Venice" with 140 kilometers of navigable canal, just 40 kilometers from the vibrant beach town of Miami. Literally a couple of steps from the campus there is one of the main city boulevards of Las Olas, the Museum of Modern Art, sites for water sports and swimming, squash, tennis and football. Thanks to the hot and sunny climate (on average in Miami 300 sunny days a year!), the city practically lives on the beach - relaxation, sailing, scuba diving and mask can also be enjoyed by TLA students. In total, Florida has 1,400 kilometers of white beaches with palm trees, and the center of Fort Lauderdale entered the TOP-10 in the US (according to data for 2014).

For the most part this is an English-speaking city with a small number of emigrants, a large and dynamically growing business and international trade center: The Time even named Fort Lauderdale among the top 15 US cities with the fastest growing employment. In addition, the city is considered the capital of the South Florida Silicon Valley - Internet Coast. The population here is mostly young and middle-aged, and the average income per person is much higher than the national average. In just 30 minutes by plane there are resort Bahamas, it is easy to arrange flights to Europe, North and South America, to the countries of the Caribbean.
