University of Bonn - Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn is a higher education institution that is part of the European University Association. It was founded in 1818 by William III as the University of Rhine, later named Bonn. It is a public educational institution of a non-commercial type.

The documents of the applicants wishing to start their studies from the winter semester are accepted on July 15 and January 15. Education at the University of Bonn will provide an excellent profile education for both German residents and foreigners. Admission to one of the best universities in Europe is adapted for foreign citizens, but requires knowledge of the German language. When applying for education, the entrant should understand that he will compete with very strong competitors. To stand out among the masses, you must successfully pass the tests, have academic achievements, speak German and correctly complete the package of documents.

There is a certain procedure that must be observed by both applicants from Germany and incoming foreigners.

  • Foreign applicants, including from Russia, must provide documents (certificate of secondary education, bachelor's degree), translated into German and certified by a notary. Applicant immediately after graduation, the applicant must pass the TestAS exam to check the knowledge of mathematics and German. If the exam is completed successfully, then additional tests on the German language should not be taken;
  • If TestAS did not give up, you will have to take TestDAF. Acceptable indicators for assessing the level of knowledge of the German language for admission: TestDAF - 4, DSH - 3. If the result is lower, then the application for admission will not be considered;
  • Those attending the magistracy and doctoral studies must confirm their level of language proficiency. This is also necessary when enrolling in a Master's program in English. Such applicants give English instead of German.
  • It is necessary to provide an autobiography, a list of academic achievements in German. You can apply for a bachelor twice a year in January and July (before the start of the summer and winter semester). The time for applying for a master's degree is regulated by each faculty separately. Information on this subject can be obtained on the official website of the university.

Tuition fee and the possibility of receiving a scholarship

Tuition at the University of Bonn is paid and is about € 270 per semester. This amount includes fare for travel, visits to dining rooms and libraries. To pay for housing, food and current costs associated with the education will require another € 700 - 800. Approximately this amount will cost the monthly maintenance of one student. Bonn University does not have its scholarship program, but it encourages the participation of its students in third-party programs. The Konrad Adenauer Foundation grants a scholarship of € 750 per month to those students who are seriously engaged in social sciences and plan their activities in this field. Students of bachelors can count on scholarships from the German government, or DAAD scholarship.
