October Half Term Holidays

  • Age - from 12 to 17 years,
  • The training period is two weeks.

Students from 12 to 17 years old are offered a recreation program where they can devote time to personal learning, have fun, play sports or applied mathematics, participate in debates, musical and dramatic productions, become a leader, make trips to London, Plymouth, Bristol and Exeter.

Summer Holidays

Summer holidays are the longest and most long-awaited for the entire academic year, so Queen's College strives to diversify every day of its pupils. Students from 7 to 17 years old are offered specialized programs in the following areas:

  • Sport

There is a choice of sports with the possibility of training on the training grounds: swimming, football, cricket, basketball, tennis or badminton. The multi-sport camp will teach children to concentrate, organize their time, set goals, strengthen friendships and increase team spirit.   

  • Adventure

The adventure program invites children to put down their gadgets and try their hand at new directions. Activities include bushcrafting, rock climbing, archery, kayaking, and orienteering. By overcoming challenges and sharing solutions, students will develop technical, intellectual, and social skills, as well as a sense of determination that will give them the confidence and desire to succeed. 

  • Performing arts

This course includes classes in the fields of dance, drama and music. It is ideal for those interested in various aspects of art, such as acting, dancing and singing, as well as set design, composition and group performance. The camp provides a creative opportunity to explore your physical abilities and emotions, as well as expand your imagination, develop a sense of self-expression.  

  • Art & Design

Art is an important part of education and self-expression. Artistic experience contributes to the development of many life skills: cognitive, social, as well as perception, memory, self-awareness, self-confidence, problem-solving, perseverance, sensitivity and dedication. Students will create large-scale projects, experiment with various materials: textiles, sketches, 3D and painting.   Real artists-teachers and visits to art galleries will also inspire them to reach new creative heights.

  • Leadership

As part of this program, children will take part in the world-famous "Become a Leader" program. Upon successful completion, children will receive an accredited CPD qualification to showcase their achievements to the world. The course includes classes to develop self-confidence and communication skills. Among the teachers of the program are experienced specialists in public speaking, as well as invited speakers. 

  • Design & Technology

The program provides an opportunity to try something new and create something that children can be proud of: from graphics to wood products, from working with metal to product design.

  • Robotics, programming

Students are invited to plunge into the wonderful world of technology: to design, create and develop their innovative ideas, curiosity, creativity and imagination through practical participation. Creating exciting projects, teamwork under the guidance of qualified teachers, guest speakers will help students improve their skills and acquire new ones. 

  • STEM

STEM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) is a great choice for students who are interested in learning about how the world works. This camp is ideal if the student is an aspiring civil engineer, software developer, or simply wants to learn more about the fascinating and diverse field of STEM. Students are invited to attend scientific disciplines, gain practical experience through experiments, and solve physical problems.   They don't will not only gain subject knowledge, but also an insight into the world of technology and how STEM subjects turn into exciting careers. The curriculum includes the study of artificial intelligence, programming, robotics, mathematical principles, technical drawings, engineering solutions, architecture, mechanics, and many other topics.  

  • Food Technology

Nutritional knowledge and conscious consumption improve cognition, concentration, and energy levels. This course will help students understand the role of nutrition in health and wellness. They will become experts through theory and interactive hands-on activities.  

  • Public speaking

Presentations, interviews, and public speaking will equip students with effective communication and teamwork skills. Using assignments, mock-ups, and practice, they will learn how to communicate effectively, speak strategically and charismatically, create persuasive arguments, express ideas eloquently, and consider aspects and points of view that they may not have considered before.  By the end of the course, children will have improved their research skills, innovative abilities and critical thinking, as well as the ability to collaborate and respect the opinions of others.

Spring Holidays

  • Age - from 7 to 17 years,
  • The duration of training is one or two weeks.

Schoolchildren from 7 to 17 years old have the opportunity to have fun on spring break: February, Easter and May. On these dates, specialized courses are offered according to the interests of students:

  • Multi-sport camp,
  • Performing Arts,

  • Food Technology, Health & Nutrition,

  • Art & Design,

  • Technology and design.

Each of the programs contains exciting classes with professional teachers and guest speakers, practice in studios and outdoors, several large-scale excursions to the world-famous sights of the UK and, of course, a long-awaited vacation.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Participants of vacation courses are accommodated in modern rooms of two or three people per room. In each room, personal beds, workplaces and storage areas are prepared for them. In common use there are bathrooms and toilets located in the corridors, cozy living rooms, kitchen areas.

Often, students live in the neighborhood with representatives of other countries or native English speakers in order to practice their knowledge outside the classroom, learn a foreign culture and make new friends. Employees can settle several students who are already familiar with each other together if an entire room is free for them.

Students are provided with a balanced meal, which is served in the dining room. Meal times are different for different age groups for the convenience of visiting the dining room.

A qualified team of chefs satisfies any needs of students: from dietary to religious. They also regularly organize themed evenings, which feature dishes from different parts of the world.

The main entertainment during the entire stay in the camp is field trips. No trip to the UK is complete without a visit to London, and students of Queen's College have the opportunity to spend a whole day among its architectural beauties - the trip will be organized with an overnight stay in central London. Accommodation in single rooms with bathrooms, proximity to world-famous museums, the National Gallery, attractions diversify the vacation life of foreign students.

During the school week, after academic classes, pupils go to Taunton to visit the cinema, play golf or bowling. As the natural beauty of North Somerset is truly exceptional, students are given the opportunity to hike in Dartmoor's Linford River Gorge. It was shaped by a combination of geology, water energy and climate change, so it is one of the amazing places in this area. 

The nearby county of Devon is home to some of the most scenic beaches in the UK, which are also of international importance in terms of wildlife. Students will visit Dawlish Warren and Exmouth, enjoy a beach holiday and explore many important conservation projects.  North Devon is famous as a great place for surfing and other sports in which children can try their hand.

A trip to the southwest would not be complete without a stop in the historic city of Bath. Exploring quaint streets, Roman ruins, the Temple of Sulis Minerva, and the infamous bath complex will give students the feeling of being in a Jane Austen novel.  The trip will last in Exeter  , a university city built before the arrival of the Romans in 50 AD.  Fantastic promenade and many shops where you can buy souvenirs.

Facilities and equipment at Queen's College Summer School, Taunton Holiday Courses

The college is located in Taunton, Somerset, England. In the summer months, it is quite hot here - the temperature reaches up to 30 ° C. During other holidays - spring, autumn and winter - you should count on changeable weather and stock up on warm, waterproof clothes.

The campus of Queen's College is located on an area of about 35 acres. Students of the courses have access to its entire infrastructure: classrooms with modern equipment, sports grounds and halls, a dining room, residential rooms in a boarding house. Also on the eduaction territory are equipped:

  • Six cricket fields with nets,
  • Gym
  • Indoor swimming pool,
  • Four netball courts,
  • Climbing wall. 

Admission dates and extra charges

From Monday to Thursday, students are on campus, engaged in self-study and attending collective events: sports, creative, scientific. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday there are large-scale excursions for the whole day, and sometimes even for a day.

The cost of the course already includes many services: accommodation, meals, trips and activities. Additionally and if desired, you can pay for overnight stays in the boarding house, not included in the selected duration of the program. Also, financial costs are possible if the student wishes to use:

  • Transfer outside the specified time of its movement,
  • Letter with courier delivery,
  • Change in course booking (name, date).

Enrolment process

Parents of the prospective student must register his application form in an online format. Candidates will be contacted by the admissions committee if the vacant seats for the selected course are not yet occupied.

Applicants will receive an invitation to study, with the help of which it is easier to obtain a student visa. Camp staff will wait for a booking confirmation and then give detailed instructions on arriving on campus.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

In order to spend a vacation in a camp on the campus of Queen's College, applicants must meet the age restrictions of the course, as well as provide personal documents: passport, medical insurance, student visa or residence permit. You will also need the contact information of one of the parents of the future student.

In the camps , all adults speak English, so it will be easier for the child to adapt, having a conversational level, but ignorance of the language is not a limitation.
