Practical activities are offered to each student in view of personal abilities, talents and needs, and helps to fully reveal potential.

The training program includes compulsory studying of at least 2 foreign languages ​​- and one of them can become native, which, of course, is very convenient, allows you to devote time to other subjects and disciplines.

All training is conducted in German. International students from the earliest days are additionally attending an intensive German course: this is the study of grammar, vocabulary, the development of written and spoken language, listening skills. On weekends, various recreational activities and leisure programs are organized that help to consolidate the knowledge gained in an informal, friendly atmosphere, in the process of live communication, games and conversations.

Hermann-Lietz-Schule Lietz Internat Hohenwehrda works closely with educational colleagues around the world, especially with institutions in Poland and the UK, and practices regular student exchanges. The teaching staff is represented by 25 teachers and 25 researchers, each of whom has the necessary qualifications and extensive work experience.

About the educational program: Beginning from grades 5-6, students can determine the further path of their development and education - choose a real school or a grammar school (the last option is often chosen by students planning to enter universities in Germany). At the very beginning of the studying the homework is no as such, due to it is already included in the plan of common lessons. In each class there are 12-16 people.

The basic school curriculum is formed in accordance with the regulations of the region (land) of Hesse, includes 6 modules:

  • German and foreign languages: studying grammar and rhetoric, improving the fluency, literacy and creativity of written and spoken language, organizing theater productions, studying the theory of language, the history of literature;
  • Vocational guidance: presentations of various professions, master classes and lectures with professionals from various fields, working with a psychologist and consulting teachers, attending major events, productions, companies, perhaps the passage of practice;
  • Charity and social work: volunteering, first aid skills, participation in environmental projects;
  • Art and creativity: thematic trips and excursions, playing musical instruments, studying culturology and philosophy, visiting theaters and museums;
  • Outdoor activities: physical education and sports, team games, trekking (walks in the mountains), adventure and hiking, sailing, downhill skiing and snowboarding;
  • Natural sciences + mathematics: the implementation of scientific and research projects (independently and in groups), the study of ecology, applied chemistry, computer science, introduction to higher mathematics, and the study of the phenomena of physical laws.

Also, students take an active part in agricultural work, can master at their own desire a craft (for example, carpentry), perform creative and sports projects.

Quick overview: international students of the 10th-13th grades are mainly focused on qualitatively and fully preparing for entering the chosen German university for a priority specialty. At the beginning of the year, subjects are chosen that will be studied at a complex, advanced level.

Accommodation, meals, prices

A cozy school residence accepts all students on a full board (the full-time course is not offered here). All students are divided into so-called "families" of 8-10 people in each - to each family attached a mentor from among qualified teachers. Bedrooms are cozy, equipped with everything necessary (appliances and furniture), access to the Internet is provided.

Meals (also on a full board basis) are organized in the general dining room of the school, spacious and able to easily accommodate all children.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

The school should apply for a student visa and collecting the required documents in advance (at least one month in advance) for admission to Hermann-Lietz-Schule Lietz Internat Hohenwehrda. It will be necessary to provide a report card with grades from the previous place of study (the average score is not lower than the average), and also to demonstrate a sufficiently high level of the German language (from B2).

If the level of the German language or academic knowledge is insufficient, the child is encouraged to take an effective preparatory course at the Humboldt Institutions (Lindenberg or Bad Schussenried).
