PSNM, now a secular educational institution, was founded in 1905 by Eulalia Durochet. For those looking to improve their musical skills, Music Option, a program offered in partnership with the renowned music school Vincent-d'Indy, is ideal. Students enrolled in the Music Option take a music course instead of plastic arts, ensemble music, or drama. The student will have a period of individual practice or an instrument lesson.

Facilities and equipment at Pensionnat du Saint-Nom-de-Marie

In 1986, the architects Jodoin, Lamarre & Pratte built a building with a modern gym, laboratory and several classrooms.

In 2005, a new pavilion was built (designed by Renato Silvestri of Linea Architecture). There is a second gymnasium, a large cafeteria, six new classrooms, administrative and technical premises.

There is a garden on the roof of the cafe and several beehives nearby.
