Oklahoma City University (OCU) is a private university that is part of the United Methodist Church and offers a wide range of degrees in the humanities, fine arts, and business.

For more than 120 years, OCU has been helping students from different countries to discover their abilities and develop important professional and personal skills. A diverse community of scientists, professors and teachers consists of people who are in love with their work and science and have many years of experience in teaching young professionals. Accommodation, meals, prices

OCU residences are within walking distance of academic buildings, cafeteria, and other important campus spaces. Accommodation in residential buildings is available to everyone, while students are required to live on the territory of the university until a certain age - 21 years.

OCU has four residences and one residential complex:

  • Walker Hall is a seven-story building that can accommodate up to 245 students. There are double and triple fully furnished rooms, shared living rooms and bathrooms,
  • Banning Hall is a three-story building for 65 first-year students living in two-room apartments. The building is equipped with a laundry room, living room, bathrooms and other public areas,
  • Draper Hall is a three-story building for 72 freshmen and high school students. It offers single and double rooms with a capacity of up to two people: shared accommodation for couples or separate accommodation for friends. Laundry facilities, vending machines, a small kitchen and bathrooms are available to all residents of the residence,
  • Methodist Hall is a residential building for high school students, accommodating up to 356 people. Students are accommodated in single, double and quadruple rooms, which have kitchenettes and bathrooms. In common use there is a living room, self-study rooms, an outdoor terrace,
  • Cokesbury Apartments are double and quadruple apartments for 424 graduate students and Upplerclass students. Each room has an equipped kitchen with appliances, a bathroom. The complex has a laundry room, a living room, an outdoor swimming pool, private parking and an administrative office.

Each residence is home to university staff who monitor the safety and well-being of students.

OCU provides pupils with the highest quality of food and service in its restaurants. Meal programs contain a variety of meal options, from traditional lunches to snacks. Students have two options for accessing the daily menu of all university cafeterias: the mobile application "Lunch on Campus" or the website of the same name. These resources help you navigate your current meals and choose your favorite place on campus, as well as provide information about possible part-time jobs for the duration of your studies.

Every student living on campus is required to have a meal plan. OCU meal plans include meal packs and points that can be spent on the purchase of snacks: from 10 to 19 meals per week and $ 300-1000 in points. Students with special medical, dietary needs have an individual menu.

Activities Oklahoma City University

Student life includes more than 80 thematic organizations, including seven national fraternities and sororities, multicultural associations, student government, and more. Each of the organizations regularly holds meetings, seminars and events not only for its members, but also for all OCU students.

One of the most popular areas of extracurricular activities among students is sports. The Stars collegiate team, which represents several sports, has won 73 national championships, maintaining a 3.0 GPA for 14 consecutive years to this day.

Admission dates and extra charges

The university is open almost all year round, as programs of different levels of education have individual dates of study. Classes are organized by semesters, held on weekdays, excluding national and international holidays.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Foreign candidates wishing to study under the bachelor's program must meet the entry criteria:

  • Certificate of complete secondary education and grades, results of final exams. The grade point average (GPA) must be at least 2.5 out of 4.0,
  • Certificate confirming the level of English: IELTS (from 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each section), TOEFL iBT (from 79), Pearson PTE (from 53), Duolingo (from 95) or equivalent,
  • Personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit,
  • Financial report on the availability of material support.

Master's and doctoral programs have special criteria for admitting new students, depending on the specialized specialty. General requirements for applicants:

  • Bachelor's degree, transcripts of all institutions where the candidate previously studied,
  • A letter with a personal statement,
  • Resume
  • Two letters of recommendation,
  • Certificate confirming the level of English: IELTS (from 6.5), TOEFL iBT (from 79), Pearson PTE (from 53), Duolingo (from 95) or equivalent,
  • Personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit.

With a slight lack of points in English, applicants are offered an introductory language course.

All documents of foreign applicants must be translated into English and certified by a notary.

More than 90% of students receive scholarships or financial support based on their needs.
