Description of Lovell International Summer, Winter Camp in Switzerland

  • Students age: 6-15 years and 16-18 years old
  • Location: Gstaad, Switzerland.

The Lovell camp in Gstaad (Switzerland) is part of the same educational network, successfully working for more than 40 years (for the first time the doors of educational institutions were opened for schoolchildren in 1973). Arrivals in the camp Lovell are held weekly from December to March, new groups begin classes every Monday.

Today in the camp Lovell in Switzerland there are interesting, rich combined programs for children and adolescents - for arrivals in July and August for 2, 3 or 4 weeks. Both girls and boys can study in the camp - educational and leisure programs are designed for pupils from 5 to 15 years, and additional leadership programs will be useful for high school students aged 16-18.

The lessons are conducted in both English and French: this is an excellent opportunity to quickly improve the language skills, to prepare for further study abroad, to overcome the language barrier. Every year, children from all over the world come to camp for winter and summer courses: this creates a comfortable multicultural, international atmosphere in which it is so easy to find new friends!

SUMMER HOLIDAY FOR CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS

The academic program is focused on learning English or French (optional): all skills are improved in a comprehensive manner, with a special emphasis on developing communication skills and speaking.

The summer camp offers combined programs for students of different age groups:

  • 6-10 years (Junior Camp)

All studying is built as a fun, exciting game with a lot of interactive. Children develop leadership qualities, perseverance and independence, become more physically hardy and sociable. There are a lot of sports games and events, water sports, classes in creative studios and craft workshops, tournaments and competitions. For a fee you can take lessons of tennis. Student groups go on fascinating excursions and walks (for example, to the Bernese zoo) and even on night hiking tours together with instructors and teachers!

  • 11-15 years old (Senior Camp)

For middle-aged students, an exciting adventure and entertainment program has been developed, capable of giving the sea a new experience! For example, students can visit the rope park, rafting in canyons and lakes. Parties are held by the pool and fun discos, celebrations and quizzes. There are excursion trips (for example, a panoramic tour of Bern), Carnival night, evenings by the fire. Constant enthusiasm of the students is caused by a three-day hike Outdoor Survival Challenge: it is an opportunity to test your strength and endurance, to acquire valuable skills and relax in the bosom of the picturesque Swiss nature.

The summer camp is open from Monday to Friday from 8:40 to 17:45. Boarders, respectively, permanently reside on campus.

PROGRAM OF LEADERSHIP

A special course on developing personal leadership skills is designed for high school students aged 16-18. Students will attend a variety of seminars and lectures aimed at developing specialized skills, will work with younger students, learn to solve various tasks and prevent conflicts.

The academic program is focused on learning English or French (optional): all skills are improved in a comprehensive manner, with a special emphasis on developing communication skills and speaking.

At leisure, the students are offered an exciting leisure and recreation program: interesting events on campus, campfire evenings, day and night hikes, sports and creativity, excursions and exciting trips.
The summer camp is opened from Monday to Friday from 8:40 to 17:45. Boarders, respectively, permanently reside on campus.

WINTER CAMP FOR CHILDREN AND SCHOOLBOYS

The Winter Experience program allows you to spend time in Switzerland with maximum pleasure and benefit: for children, interesting and comfortable educational programs have been developed (English or French for choice, there is a variant of learning German), numerous sports classes and creative electives, a large number of fascinating excursions, activities, hikes and trips to ski resorts. Professional coaches and instructors will help to master mountain skiing or snowboarding even for beginners, will select a suitable and safe studying program for children with any level of education and physical endurance.

The standard duration of the course is 1 week, you can extend your stay in the camp for any period at your discretion (the maximum time of the winter camp is 14 weeks). The dates of the Lovell winter camp are from 18 December to 8 April.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Summer and winter camp Lovell offers both full board accommodation (with permanent campus accommodation) and full-time education.

The guesthouse is provided with a place in the cozy residence of Mountain Lodge: there are 16 comfortable rooms designed for 2-6 people (there are also two common bedrooms for 10 people, which are usually occupied by schoolchildren of younger age). All rooms are equipped with bathrooms. In general, there are cozy living rooms with upholstered furniture, functional kitchens (you can make tea, coffee, something to eat), a spacious terrace and a games room and an outdoor area. Free internet access is provided.

Activities Lovell International Summer, Winter Camp in Switzerland

In their free time, Lovell students have ample opportunities for sports, creativity, interesting walks through the picturesque surroundings and monuments of culture and architecture. For an additional fee, you can supplement the main course with lessons of tennis, golf or horse riding (detailed rates are indicated in the corresponding paragraph of the description). All schoolchildren can be engaged in rock climbing, master various crafts and creative directions. A lot of classes (sports exercises - almost everything) are held outdoors, including fascinating cultural and historical tours and even night hikes (of course, under the supervision of teachers and professional instructors).

There is an opportunity to master a variety of winter sports, including mountain skiing and snowboarding: with the children there are professional coaches who will be able to choose an educational program for any level of physical development.

Excursions offered to the camp's students are distinguished by a variety of topics and themes:

  • The Great Zoo in Bern
  • Montreux + winter sports (in the summer it is offered walking trekking through the mountains)
  • Shopping in Gstaad or Saanen
  • Visit to theaters
  • Visits to museums and art galleries
  • Gruyer Castle
  • The Olympic Museum in Lausanne
  • Glacier Diablerets
  • Water parks and much more.
