The ISU Master of Space Studies Program (MSS) is intended for individuals seeking professional development and / or further academic studies.

The first year of study in the program is more theoretical and is conducted mainly on the ISU Central Campus in Strasbourg. The second year provides for the implementation of one extended research or scientific work.

The space studies program

The Space Research Program (SSP) is specifically designed for professionals starting their space career, or for people working in space-related fields who want to expand their knowledge and skills.

The exchange of experience within an international, interactive work environment is an ideal online forum leading to the creation of an extensive, international, multidisciplinary professional network consisting of program graduates, faculty and visiting teachers.

The Southern Hemisphere Space Studies Program

  • Dates: year-round
  • Duration: 5 weeks
  • Tuition: $ 14,000 AUD / program.

The Southern Space Research Program (SHSSP) has been implemented since 2011 in partnership with the University of South Australia. SHSSP is designed with a special focus on the southern hemisphere space environment and is built around the topics of space research, space policy and space services, while providing comprehensive coverage of the principles and concepts related to space science, space engineering and technological systems, space business, project management and space regulatory issues. This program is designed to be a catalyst for enhancing the role of outer space for the countries of the Southern Hemisphere and developing human potential in this area.

Short space courses

  • Dates: year-round
  • Duration: 1 week
  • Tuition: 3750 € / course.

ISU organizes a series of short-term courses upon request that are tailored to the specifications of the company in need. These courses can be prepared in collaboration with partner organizations and conducted at locations selected by the client.

For example, as part of the Executive Cosmonautics training course, the current space and related activities are examined and the technologies, science, entrepreneurial activities and policies on which each stage of the space program or mission is based are explained.

Commercial space program

  • Dates: year-round
  • Duration: 4 courses.

The purpose of the Commercial Space Program is to provide students from various fields of science, technology and business with an intensive series of courses focused on commercial space, with an emphasis on technical and entrepreneurial management, public-private partnerships and activities in the New Cosmos.

Upon completion of all four courses, students will receive a Florida Tech graduate certificate.

Facilities and equipment at International Space University

ISU is located in Strasbourg, Alsace, northeastern France and borders the River Rhine in the east, the Vosges mountains in the west, the German Plain in the north and Belfort territory in the south.

  • The reusable Excalibur Almaz (RVV Diamond), which is the Russian equivalent of the NASA spacecraft delivering astronauts from the International Space Station

Recommendations on when to apply

- some schools have a specific time frame (September-November - please specify an individual school)
- some schools require tests in several stages (UKISET, internal tests of the school: English, mathematics, logics, subjects, interview, some require a personal visit)

- for Foundation and Pathway programs, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are usually required, respectively

- the deadline normally closes in January, for TOP HEIs and, as a rule, in March in other universities
- for a bachelor, a Foundation or Pathway preparatory program a completed A-level, IB, High School + IELTS / TOEFL are required
- for Masters you need a graduated higher education, in some cases you need a pre-Masters program
- MBA requires completed higher education, work experience preferably at least 2-3 years, etc.
