The university is located in the suburbs of Rennes: the university has three campuses in the eastern and northwestern parts of the city. The main campus in Beaulieu is a large-scale educational complex, founded in 1969. Throughout its history, the campus has gone through several upgrades. The Beaulieu campus houses the Faculties of Science and the Faculty of Philosophy.
