The Institut Supérieur des Médias (ISCPA) is an institution that encompasses several specialized schools and offers higher education in the fields of journalism, communications, cultural and artistic production. Master's Programs

A master's degree program is a continuation of the academic path after obtaining a bachelor's degree in a specific specialization. Master's courses are presented in three areas: communications, production, and journalism.

Within two years, students will gain in-depth knowledge in their chosen profession, applied skills and work experience in the format of internships and cooperation with partner organizations. A master's degree will prove to employers the quality knowledge and qualifications of the student, help in obtaining a position and offer more successful career growth.

Preparatory Class INFOCOM

  • Age — from 21 years old,
  • The duration of the study is one year.

The INFOCOM Preparatory Class in Paris, Lyon, and Toulouse is a one-year post-bachelor's degree program designed for students who want personal development, career advancement in the media industry.

Every 4-6 weeks, a new topic is intensively studied, in 2019-2020, students explored areas such as language, justice, future, art, and others. The program is organized around optional interest courses, visits to exhibitions, conferences and seminars.

The weekly curriculum includes five days of specialized classes and activities, such as:

  • Monday: reading the press, transcribing events in the media, introduction to geopolitics,
  • Tuesday: Critical analysis, study of French and grammar, reading of documented analyses,
  • Wednesday: visiting the sights in order to immerse yourself in the cultural, artistic and media world of the city,
  • Thursday: preparation of personal projects, introduction to audiovisual methods of product presentation, sports events,
  • Friday: Work on group projects or attend an internship.

At the end of the academic year, students have the opportunity to enroll in the first year of a bachelor's degree.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Despite the large campus areas, the institution does not have residential residences or houses. However, ISCPA staff will assist in finding suitable accommodation in Paris, Lyon and Toulouse, if necessary.

The campuses have catering areas – cafeterias and dining halls that offer students sandwiches, pastries, salads, hot meals and drinks at affordable prices.

In their free time, students can pay attention to the development of individual interests: participation in thematic clubs, attending seminars or internships. Sports and creative events are regularly held on the campuses of the Institute, timed to coincide with the dates of holidays: Christmas and graduation balls, Easter, Mother's Day and many others. Through a variety of campus events, students get to know each other, learn to work in a team and develop leadership skills, and have the opportunity to present their talents to groups of invited specialists in various fields: art, culture, sports, science, and others. Facilities and equipment at Institute Supérieur des Médias (Group IGS)

The institute has three campuses in three cities in France: Paris, Lyon and Toulouse.

The Paris Study Area is a campus located in the heart of the 10th arrondissement, a stone's throw from the Gare de l'Est and the Canal Saint-Martin. Together with other IGS Group schools, the study site in Paris is designed for academic learning and the development of individual qualities of students. The 6,800-square-meter campus includes:

  • Spacious amphitheaters for lectures and seminars ,
  • Dozens of small classrooms for daily activities,
  • Computer rooms equipped with more than 320 PCs and MacBooks, Internet access and 100 MB internal network architecture, Wi-Fi hotspot ,
  • An information library with a subscription, bringing together more than 8500 works, to which are added periodicals, documentary files, memoirs and electronic resources,
  • Catering area ,
  • Recreation areas .

The study area in Lyon is a state-of-the-art 22,500 sqm campus Attending classes here allows you to access facilities such as:

  • 170 auditoriums, lecture halls and information halls,
  • Large amphitheater with 295 seats,
  • More than 20 open and closed areas for group work,
  • An information library with more than 12,300 research papers, 200 press titles, including more than 1000 digital versions of journals,
  • A database of 14,000 sources of information in 27 languages from 200 countries,
  • 800 computer stations and consultation consoles in common areas, all with high-speed Internet access,
  • Wi-Fi network and wired Internet terminals on all floors,
  • A language centre that provides access to courses shared with other schools,

The ISCPA has educational facilities in Toulouse. The campus is located in close proximity to the city center, green areas and sports fields, leisure facilities, shops, a university restaurant and possible housing options.  Students benefit from high-quality infrastructure on an area of more than 6000 square meters:

Admission dates and extra charges

The beginning of the academic year for undergraduate students is organized in September, and for master's students in October. Academic classes are held on weekdays, ending by early to mid-summer. Rest is provided on weekends, holidays, vacations.

Enrolment process

The procedure for registering to study at ISCPA consists of several stages:

  • Filling out an online form and submitting documents. You need to apply for the Lyon and Toulouse campuses at least a week before the entrance exams, the Paris campus does not have fixed dates,
  • Payment of registration fees,
  • Arrival at the campus for interviews and entrance exams (this stage is available for completion in an online format),
  • Receiving a response from the Admissions Committee,
  • Preparation of administrative documents, including scholarships, and accommodation reservations,

Every year, more than 4,100 graduates of ISCPA programs continue their academic path at top universities in France and around the world or start careers in their professional field.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

International applicants must provide:

  • Academic documents: high school diploma/bachelor's degree (depending on the program), official transcripts,
  • Personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit,
  • Certificate confirming English language proficiency at IELTS level 6.0 or higher.

If there are individual achievements, work experience or internships, the student should attach confirmations to the main package of documents.

Scholarships Institute Supérieur des Médias (Group IGS)

ISCPA students have several options for funding tuition and covering housing and health insurance costs:

  • End-of-year internships (two to five months per year in France or abroad): a material fee is provided for any internship lasting more than two months. The minimum hourly bonus is €4.05 – approximately €600 per month. This amount may be higher depending on the agreement with the company.  
  • Work and Study Courses (Continuing Education Contract or Apprenticeship Contract): Depending on the industry and the programme being studied, the institute organizes work and courses. As part of the signing of the contract, the tuition fee is fully covered by the company + the apprentice receives a reward in the amount of 43% to 80% of the minimum wage. 
  • Part-time work throughout the year: All ISCPA students have, in addition to weekends, at least one day off per week for personal work, paid company activities, or part-time internships.
  • Banking Partnership: ISCPA and IGS Group have maintained local partnerships with banking institutions for several years, allowing students to benefit from preferential rates and services.
  • Individual financing: tuition fees for three to six months in advance, which allows you to get rid of taxes. Students receive a 5% discount if they pay their annual tuition in cash.
  • Student Scholarships: Various scholarships can be awarded to students to support the project: Erasmus, Explora'Sup, Honorary Scholarship, etc. They are awarded on the basis of academic, extracurricular success or in case of financial instability of the student.
  • Junior Student Council: Campus and school associations may provide paid assignments in journalism, communications, and production.
  • Early Booking: The ISCPA rewards the first candidates to enroll in the programs with a 10% discount.
