The European Design Institute - IED Educational Group was founded in 1966: today it is the world's largest private profile network of institutions focused on teaching students in the direction of fashion, design, communication and visual arts among universities in Italy. The post of the president of the IED is still occupied by the creator - Francesco Morelli - whose dream was to create a university where the talents and abilities of schoolchildren turned into highly demanded and highly paid professions.
Today, the Institute's campuses are located in Italy, Brazil and Spain (the study in Italy can be conducted in English, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese, respectively), and the total number of students has exceeded 9,000 (representing more than 80 countries and nationalities).
IED Rome is taught in English and Italian (depending on the chosen program and sometimes on the subject). There are four faculties at the Institute:
- Design
- Fashion
- Visual arts
- Communication.
The history of Rome has more than 30 centuries of existence: it is the first metropolis in the world, one of the most important historical and cultural centers not only of Italy, but of the whole planet. The course of bachelor's degree usually takes 3 academic years: it is the first stage of higher education of the European model, which gives the opportunity to conduct work on the received specialty. Rome IED offers students the following specialties:

- It is advisable to provide a personal portfolio.

- Food Design
- Communication and marketing in fashion business
- Design of jewelry.
The cost of the master's one-year course does not includes accommodation and meals. Requirements for applicants for the course are quite strict:
- TOEFL (from 500 points, option iBT from 68) / IELTS 5.5 and higher or its analogue
- Personal portfolio (at least 10-15 works on the design with detailed description and the date of implementation of each)
- Diploma of Higher Education (Bachelor's Degree)
- Personal resume
- Preferred work experience from 2 years in the chosen specialty (in some cases can replace the bachelor's degree)

Short-term professional courses usually last up to 4 weeks. This is an excellent opportunity to devote more time to specialized skills and knowledge, to acquire additional valuable skills, to improve their skills and staff value. In Rome IED teaches the following courses:

Accommodation, meals, prices
University specialists always help foreign students to find housing during their studies: it is difficult to do without knowing the specifics of local legislation, the structure of the city, the scheme of public transport movements, etc. Usually students prefer rooms in nearby residences (within walking and transport accessibility from the campus): many of them have been partners of the Institute for several years and provide IED students with the most comfortable conditions and new rooms. Residences have common cozy living rooms for rest, student kitchens, and some houses even provide meals (half-board or breakfast, for an additional fee).
Based on your capabilities and preferences, a hotel, hostel or apartment can be selected - it is enough to contact the specialists of the Institute.

Admission dates and extra charges
The programs and the duration of each course are offered as follows:
- Short-term professional courses, continuing education (4 weeks)
- Program for obtaining a certificate (5 weeks)
- Diploma courses for one year (9 months)
- Undergraduate (3 years)
- Master (1 year).

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
The requirements for applicants differ depending on the chosen program.
1) Basic programs (1 year):
- TOEFL certificate (450 points) / IELTS 5.0 or its equivalent
- Secondary education certificate.
2) Undergraduate:
- TOEFL certificate (500 points) / IELTS 5.5 + 6.0 + Certificate of sufficient knowledge of Language, which will be trained (Italian, from advanced)
- Secondary education certificate
- Motivation letter
- It is advisable to provide a personal portfolio.
3) Master:
- TOEFL (from 500 points, iBT version from 68) / IELTS 5.5 and above or its analogue
- Personal portfolio (at least 10-15 works on design with detailed description and date (999.28)
- Personal resume
- It is desirable to have work experience of 2 years in the chosen specialty (in some cases it can replace a bachelor's degree)
- Motivation letter.
4) Summer programs:
- Advanced level of English.
A package of documents from the entrants For the next year is accepted in the period from December 1 to August 31 (minimum 3 months before the expected start of classes). The package should include:
- Completed application form strictly in the form of the school
- Passport and its copy, 4 passport-size photographs
- Medical certificate
- A receipt for the prepayment of the training course
- Certificate of secondary education
- Certificate of sufficient level of the English language + the language in which the training will be conducted
- [ 999.59] Portfolio.
Additionally, applicants pass a telephone interview with a representative of the Institute, so that he can be convinced of the level of the language.
Please note that all basic documents (certificates, certificates, medical certificate) must be translated into Italian and notarized. In the diploma and the certificate should be a list of studied disciplines, the number of hours each.
A registration fee of € 2500 is compulsory.
