Humboldt-Institut are year-round intensive German courses for any category of students: adults, children, teenagers and students. Camps are organized in various cities of Germany - from large megacities to a cozy province - which opens up wide opportunities for travel, acquaintance with German culture, fascinating excursions and walks. Humboldt-Institut Cologne is an invariable quality of education, a rich and interesting extra-curricular program, comfortable living conditions and a wonderful international atmosphere.

Cologne is considered to be the oldest city on the territory of modern Germany, most famous for its legendary majestic cathedral: it was built over 600 years ago. The cathedral houses more than 20,000 people, which gives him the right to be called the largest in Western Europe. Also in Cologne there are more than 30 museums, more than 120 art and picture galleries, in summer many festivals, concerts and exhibitions are held.

About the educational program:

  • 30 language classes per week;
  • Small Educational group - up to 10 students;
  • Duration of each lesson - 45 minutes;
  • Minimum level of language for admission: Initial;
  • Minimum duration of the course: 3 weeks;
  • Periods of the educational course:
  • From 3 to 16 July;
  • From 17 to 30 July;
  • From 31 July to 13 August.

Summer German course is suitable for international teenagers who are ready for intensive lessons and fullness of each day. All classes are conducted in an interesting, non-boring form, various interactive games are involved. Each week, a test is conducted on the level of knowledge and mastery of the teaching material. Educational staff can more closely monitor the success of each student, adjust the curriculum, pay more attention to complex topics or aspects, if necessary.

The main attention is devoted to the development of communicative and speech skills - constantly conducted interactive, dialogues, role games and simulated situations. Also, students perform homework on a daily basis, which are then checked by the teacher.

In their free time, international students will receive an interesting extra-curricular program:

  • Half-day trips are focused on the study of local attractions and monuments of culture, art, architecture;
  • Once a week (usually Saturday) students go on a full day excursion to visit different citites, such as:
    • Bon;
    • Aachen;
    • Trier;
    • Dusseldorf.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The Humboldt-Institut Cologne pupils live in a comfortable youth hostel Cologne City Hostel (Deutz district, right bank of the Rhine). The main railway station and the center of the Old Town can be reached on foot in just a few minutes, just like most cafes, restaurants, shops and entertainment centers, cultural sites, history and art.

Students are living in cozy double rooms, the windows of which open directly to the Cologne Cathedral The rooms are equipped with amenities and all necessary furniture. When resettlement takes into account the age of students, the level of their language studying, as well as the international principle - the more heterogeneous nationalities will be represented by residents in one room, the better for language progress and the rapid overcoming of the language barrier.

Meals are organized on a full board basis, thrice a day, and access to fruits, light snacks and fresh drinking water is also provided throughout the day.

The teachers and educators of Humboldt-Institut Cologne develop a rich, diverse and fascinating leisure program for students, which also has a educational character. Entertainment and excursions help to practice the language in an informal and relaxed environment, provide an opportunity to better understand the culture, traditions and history of Germany.
