One of the best language networks in Germany and Europe - Humboldt Institut - offers foreign students 18 years and older to immerse themselves in the world of German language, culture and traditions. Today, the Humboldt Institut centers offer students a wide variety of language programs: from year-round universal courses to exciting, combined summer programs, so that each student will have an option according to his taste, needs and capabilities.

Humboldt Institut provides a fairly high intensity of classes, increased employment of students, as well as a practical-oriented program of leisure and entertainment. During extra-curricular activities, students further consolidate, sharpen the knowledge gained in the classroom, practicing in real life situations, talking with both native German speakers and foreign students.

One of the most developed, large and popular centers of the network is the Humboldt Institut Berlin (Language School), located in the German capital. Berlin is a large city (almost 4 million inhabitants), very bright and original, which almost never sleeps. The capital simultaneously preserves its rich, unique culture and traditions and at the same time eagerly absorbs any modern tendencies and trends: Berlin today is deservedly considered one of the world's most important centers of fashion and style, music, entertainment, finance and business. Intensive German course

  • Age of students: from 18 years old
  • The minimum level of knowledge: any, from the initial (A1-C1)
  • 1 lesson = 45 minutes
  • Intensity: 30 lessons weekly.

An effective language course is designed for students who do not want to lose time and can devote enough time and energy to the classes (30 academic hours are provided per week).

Upon arrival, even before the beginning of the lessons, all students pass the distribution testing: it determines the students in approximately equivalent in terms of the initial level of knowledge of the group, which makes the study more efficient, productive, quick and comfortable. Comprehensively, all basic, key skills of the German language are improved:

  • Grammar
  • Reading
  • Auditing (listening comprehension)
  • Vocabulary
  • Written speech
  • Oral speech (spoken German)
  • Phonetics (correct pronunciation, accent correction)
  • Improvement of communication skills.

Usually the first two morning lessons are devoted to the study of grammar, but the subsequent classes are aimed at honing the acquired knowledge and rules, improving oral, colloquial speech. Provided for students and daily homework (usually on the development of reading or writing).

Professional, accredited teachers have extensive experience working with foreign students and international groups: they make each lesson interesting, exciting, unlike the others, which only positively affects the effectiveness of education. Groups for classes are usually formed up to 8-10 people: so it manages to practice an individual approach, giving each student maximum of personal attention and care. Weekly, screening tests and small tests are carried out so that the teacher is able to monitor the progress and difficulties of the students, adjusting the curriculum as necessary, devoting more time to difficult topics and aspects.

The minimum period of study is 2 weeks. In addition to studying at the Berlin school, the students have the opportunity to book a combined course: 5 weeks in Berlin and 5 weeks at the branch office in Konstanz.

Individual German course (One-to-one)

  • Age of students: from 18 years old
  • The minimum level of knowledge: any, from the initial (A1-C1)
  • 1 lesson = 45 minutes
  • Intensity: 25/30/40 lessons weekly.

The course of individual lessons with an experienced teacher is perhaps the fastest and most effective way to significantly improve your language and academic level.

The student can choose the intensity of the lessons independently, relying on his abilities and abilities, the initial level of knowledge - 25, 30 or 40 lessons each week. The subject and content of each lesson are also tailored to the individual needs, the requirements of each student - it can be tourism, economics, commerce, banking, insurance, improving fluency and correctness of spoken language, improving written skills, studying grammar, etc. This course is also suitable for students who subsequently plan to attend group lessons: individual lessons with the teacher will help in short terms to fill gaps in knowledge and improve the overall language level.

Preparation for the Test DAF exam

  • Age of students: from 18 years old
  • Minimum level of knowledge: from advanced (C1 and higher)
  • 1 lesson = 45 minutes
  • Intensity: 15-30 lessons weekly.

A special pre-exam course helps students to easily and successfully pass a difficult TestDAF exam, determining the level of German language among foreign citizens. The TestDAF certificate is compulsory if you plan to study at German universities: this is one of the key documents that the admission committee of any German university requests. Please note: this program is not suitable for beginners, entrants must demonstrate already a fairly deep knowledge (the level from advanced).

In the process of learning, students will learn all the features and subtleties of this test, its structure, complex parts and typical traps, "pitfalls". The Berlin branch of the Humboldt Institut is accredited as the official TestDAF test center, so students will be able to pass both test and real testing in the same school.

The duration of the course (minimum) is 2 weeks, however, for qualitative and effective, comprehensive preparation it is recommended to book the program in 4 weeks.

  • Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students of Humboldt Institut Berlin language courses can choose the most optimal, convenient accommodation option for the period of study:

  • Student residence on campus

Usually these are rooms for 1-2 people, very cozy and comfortable: they are equipped with all necessary furniture, appliances, lighting and household appliances, as well as personal amenities in each room. Foreseen board meals: breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

  • Host German family

The ability to constantly practice German with its native speakers! Students are offered comfortable single rooms, furnished, as well as half board meals: breakfasts and dinners in the house together with the rest of the family, and lunches on the school territory (during the day a basket with fresh fruits is available for students). All families live no more than 1 hour from the school territory: they constantly undergo thorough checks and the strictest selection in order to provide students with really wonderful, comfortable living conditions.

  • Student apartments

In the apartments (most often this option is chosen by students, the business course from 27 years and older) there are new, beautifully furnished and single bedrooms with fresh renovation, all necessary appliances (including TV and WiFi) and daily cleaning. Nutrition for this option is organized independently: students can eat in numerous restaurants and cafes in Berlin, cook on a well-equipped kitchen.

Activities Humboldt Institut Berlin Language School

For students, a rich and exciting program of entertainment, excursions and extra-curricular activities is planned and organized:

In each classroom there are no more than 8-10 people, and under the program "Intensive business course" (students 27 years and older) even less - 2-4 people. Requirements for applicants for the program relate mainly to the initial level of education, knowledge of the German language:

  • Business course (super-intensive) - from advanced (B2 and higher)
  • Preparation for the Test DAf exam is from advanced (C1 and higher).
