Graduate School of Engineer (Ensicaen) is one of the French universities, the profile of which are engineering specialties of the magistracy.

The university was founded in 1911-1912 as the Institute of Applied Sciences - part of the University of Caen. About 750 students study here annually, 15% of whom are foreigners. The teaching staff includes about 85 highly qualified specialists of various specialties.

Accommodation is provided by Crous Normandie. Dormitories of various types, comfort conditions are equipped with common areas:

Upon arrival, you must pay a deposit of 175 €, the first month of stay 430€.

On campus there is a university restaurant, cafeterias. The approximate cost of one meal is 3.25€.

Activities National Graduate School of Engineer (Ensicaen)

Students of the institution publish about 350 scientific works per year. They also have the opportunity to participate in seven competitions of artistic creativity: photos, short films, news, dance, theater, music. The national prize for the winner is 2000€.

Student associations of various directions gather in the premises of the Hotel La Salle in Mont-Saint-Aignan. It has a stage for performances, choreographic halls, music rooms with instruments, equipment.

In the main office of the Department of Culture, master classes, thematic meetings, art seminars are held.

In Cana, carnivals, book fairs, parties, sports tournaments are regularly held.

On the territory there are 40 000 sq.m. educational buildings, 25 000 sq.m. research sites.

Admission dates and extra charges

The French system of engineering education includes 2 stages:

  • 2 years in preparatory classes in secondary schools, where students prepare national competitive examinations for admission to the 1st year of engineering school (level: bachelor's degree + 2 years)
  • 3 years in engineering institutes to obtain an engineering degree.

The first year corresponds to a bachelor's degree, an engineering or master's degree is prepared within the last two years. Direct enrollment in the 4th year after the bachelor's degree is possible for selected university students after studying at the bachelor's degree in natural sciences.

Internships are held every year in March, May or June-August, lasting 4 weeks, 4-6 months depending on the stage of study.

Education takes place in French, English. For study, courses are held in German, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Italian.

The academic year is two semesters, several weeks of session throughout the year.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

An application for admission must be submitted on the official website of the university by filling out a questionnaire. Best application dates:

  • June 15 for 1 semester
  • December 1 for the 2nd semester.

To apply for the Erasmus+ program, you should contact the Department of International Relations.

For admission to master's programs you will need:

  • Diploma of the previous level of education
  • Official transcript
  • Standard testing for the quality of knowledge.

International students must have:
