School immersion program

This is a program for immersing students in Giggleswick High School, which is held at the educational center during the last 5 weeks of the summer semester. Pupils and adolescents, in addition to exploring the new environment, will have the opportunity to improve their level of spoken and written English due to the large amount of practice.

For the period of study, students are offered accommodation in one of the seven school residences + participation in a leisure program that includes various clubs, events and trips. The concept of such an immersion program includes not only gaining new academic experience, but also a new cultural experience - interaction with British traditions and not only.

To participate in the program, students who are eligible for age will need to fill out a registration form and make a deposit to reserve a seat.

Every year, the program of the International Summer School invites children from countries around the world from the age of 7 to 16 to study. The international summer school conducts two shifts of instruction, taking into account the age of students:

Easter courses at Giggleswick School is an educational program that is held during Easter vacations for children of two age categories:

  • From 7 to 11 years old;
  • From 11 to 16.

In the courses, children will learn English, plus participate in additional activities. Depending on the program, students will realize their creative or sports potential: art, cooking, drama, dancing, nature exploration, needlework of all kinds, geocaching, adventure sports (tracking, hiking, rafting), team games and more.

For older children, sports academies of hockey or cricket are offered under the supervision of professional British coaches or national players.

During the summer holidays, Giggleswick offers students educational programs designed for different ages. Each of the courses lasts 4 weeks, and every seven days the children engage in various types of activities - from sports in the fresh air to various workshops (art, science, culinary, craft and not only).

In each of the presented areas, qualified teachers, instructors or professional coaches work with students of summer courses. Sudying sessions are held every week from Monday to Friday. In the evenings, an entertainment program is organized for children, and on weekends - a cultural part, including excursions and walks.

Giggleswick is an excellent school for coaching and tourism, as there are necessary conditions for practice on its territory. The campus is located in one of the best regions of the country - in the territory of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where you can find hills, rocks, rivers, caves. There are also three famous Yorkshire peaks: Ingleborough, Pen-i-Gent and Warnside. There are also sandstone cliffs in the park, there is a mountain bike track, suitable terrain for orienteering. On the campus, students will find an indoor pool, a climbing wall and a shooting gallery.

The school is located in the vicinity of the Yorkshire Dales National Park in the village of Giggleswick (Jeggleswick) a mile and a half from the town of Settle, which belongs to the north-eastern part of England. The journey time from school to London takes 5.5 hours (420 km). Manchester Airport is 1.5 hours away by car.

Pupils of the school are accommodated in seven houses, each of which can accommodate from 48 to 60 students, the director of the Giggleswick School is personally responsible for the studnets. Rooms in boarding houses are designed for 2-3 people. Each house is supervised by a manager and four teachers. Some high school students voluntarily help teachers.
