Mathematics - from 12 to 16 years

Mathematics is aimed at students interested in further studying the mathematical disciplines of the natural, engineering, computer, formal sciences. Mathematics is a subject with a wide range of applications in the professional, academic fields. This is an important component of not only the future of teaching mathematics, but the natural sciences (chemistry, physics, astronomy, biology), as well as the formal sciences (logic, statistics, robotics). The high level of mathematics will allow to study engineering, computer science in high school.

Students will focus on pure, applied mathematics. Subjects studied:

Humanities - from 12 to 16 years

Humanities is suitable for students planning to study humanities in higher education - art, history, philosophy, politics, sociology, literature, language. Students develop skills, knowledge, language, analyzing, critically evaluating painting, music, literature, cinema, key moments of history, current political affairs, their sociological, political reasons, history of thought, philosophy. Sciences

Sciences is suitable for students who intend to study physics, biology, chemistry, mathematics, and natural sciences. It will help to develop scientific, educational skills related to a wide range of scientific topics, concepts, helping them to develop a sound scientific approach. The course pays equal attention to chemistry, physics, biology, and such a balanced foundation, understanding of the physical universe gives students the skills necessary for effective study of new areas of science.

The Science curriculum is aimed at developing an understanding of scientific concepts, methodology, ways of influencing scientific achievements on the world. The studied areas include the Earth’s complex dynamic climate system, space exploration, and medical advances. Examining these topics from various critical points of view, students will improve their research, analytical skills. All Science students are implementing a Time to Shine research project in collaboration with other students. This experience allows them to go through the full cycle of project work: to study a scientific problem, to form a scientific report, presentation, present the results to an audience. This experience imitates some of the real projects that natural science students are working on, allowing us to assess the degree of impact of effective scientific research on the outside world.

Presentations are held at Jafar Hall, the famous debate club of Eton College – the very atmosphere here allows you to work efficiently and with pleasure.

Students are divided into multinational, mixed groups (maximum 15 people per class).

At the end of the course, all students receive a branded certificate and a report on the work done, the successes achieved.

Introduction to Politics & Economics

  • Students age: 12-16 years old,
  • Duration: 2 weeks,

A two-week summer course for anyone interested in politics and economics, seeks in the future to connect their careers with these areas, to become a politician or a major manager.

The program will allow teenagers to deepen their knowledge of economics and politics - both at the micro and macro levels, to evaluate the various ideologies and processes that formed the foundation of various world political systems. Students will analyze the features of different political regimes in different countries, the forms of democracy, voting and election systems, and the economic foundations of modern markets.

Lectures and speeches of invited speakers greatly help in learning: receiving first-hand information from leading experts of the country, professionals in their field, children will learn effectively and with pleasure. In fact, this is the level of a university bachelor's degree! In addition, visits to real enterprises, workplaces, and important industry centers are also very useful.

Students are given a lot of theory, which they constantly test in practice. In addition, students will strengthen useful personal and academic skills: critical and analytical thinking, finding original solutions to problems, group work and communication skills. The main practical component of the summer course is the Time to Shine project, which is transformed into an election strategy on this program. Each student will be able to prove himself as a strong strategist and speaker: teenagers will speak to the audience with their own election speech and a formed election campaign for inclusion in the school board. The project takes 10 hours: perhaps you will win according to the results of the voting?

History

The History program is an exciting summer two-week course that immerses teenagers in the world of research from the Middle Ages to the present day. Students will learn a lot of useful and interesting things:

  • What methods do historians use to study past eras,
  • How to develop critical and analytical thinking,
  • What skills must a professional historian have (and a student who enters the historical specialties at the university),
  • A huge amount of new vocabulary - professional, even highly specialized,
  • How different aspects of history and events add up to a single outline of humanity.

The main result of the two-week course is the Time to Shine project, a short research film "Our Place in History", which is shown to all students and classmates. 10 hours are allotted for the project. The task of the students is to imagine and show how future generations will look at the time in which we live and study now. The final presentation is a special festival of historical documentaries at Eton College.

Foundation in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence

The program is dedicated to AI and computer science, computer science: students will study the basics of coding, programming in different languages, the development of algorithms and applications, get acquainted with the latest achievements in the field of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. Activities Eton College Academic Summer Camp

Students will finish their trip on the beach for traditional English dinner fish & chips at the famous Brighton Pier.
