Epsom College was established in 1855, the institution was conceived as a medical men's college for children from families of British doctors. Today, it is one of the most famous educational institutions in Surrey. Most of the students in the school are boarders. Foreign students receive a first-class European education at Epsom College. Later they continue their studies at the highly ranking country's universities. Many of the school's graduates became famous people. For actors, diplomats, well-known journalists, police, military, scientists, doctors, creative personalities, Epsom College was like home. Nowadays, students of 26 nationalities study in the college -  among them, immigrants from the EU, China, Malaysia, Russia. The most comfortable living conditions are created for foreign students.

The campus, which covers more than 30 hectares, is located 10 minutes walk from the cozy town of Epsom in Surrey. From here it takes only 25 kilometers to Londo, the school is  also close to Gatwick and Heathrow International Airports.

The school in the academic plan focuses on the study of languages, ICT, mathematics. Epsom College is a modern educational institution with a one and a half century history. There is everything to meet the educational needs of different groups of students. In particular, the school offers International GCSE program. The latter is recognized by all the educational systems of the world.

Academic results in the school are very high. 90% of the graduates of the boarding school enter the most highly ranking universities in Britain. 60% of them are chosen by the universities of the Russell group. Yesterday's school students go to Cambridge, Stanford, Oxford. More than half of the students and graduates take A-level tests for A * - A. More than 70% of children receive such an examination assessment by IGCSE \ GCSE.

At Epsom College, the level of incomplete secondary education requires the compulsory studying of physics, biological courses, English and literature, the basics of chemistry, mathematics. Knowledge of these subjects is necessary for the surrender of the international IGCSE. Foreign students study French (predominantly) or Spanish (quite rarely). In-depth study of mathematics will make it possible to hand over AS after 10 years of study, but this depends on the student's desire.

The students choose three additional subjects in the tenth year of study. It can be such directions:

This is a pre-university program aimed at obtaining specialized knowledge. In the first year A-Level students comprehend four sciences (if desired, higher mathematics is added), the second course involves acquaintance with 3 subjects. Additionally, you can prepare for university tests (LNAT, biomedical test (BMAT), SAT, Oxbridge) or take advanced courses:

  • Investment theory;
  • Enterprise building and development (YES);
  • Analytical course;
  • EPQ.

A-Level program provides an extensive study of subjects such as mathematics, design technology, photo, sports, music, world political studies, biology, information technology, Greek (on application), business and management, geography, chemistry, theater, for foreign citizens - mother tongue, Latin, philosophy, historical course, art, English, physics and economics. The most popular among foreign languages ​​is French, the college admits the mastery of either German or Spanish. For those who have chosen the direction of the exact sciences, it is planned to study the advanced course of mathematics up to 13 academic hours a week. Aspects of personal growth, career choice and health are studied in the PSHE course.

The international program of pre-university preparation provides for studying at a sophisticated level of up to 28 subjects. Students from this list choose three basic ones. At Epsom College, studying combines theory, practical lessons, and analytical research. The main emphasis of Pre-U is to teach students to think, to consider and analyze all the information received.

This course is chosen by future scientists and researchers, since the requirements of Pre-U are the highest among academic programs.

Pre-U studies in economics, music, sports, philosophies, business, the ancient Greek language (by agreement), chemistry, native language (for foreign students), theatrical skill, biology, English, government and political science, ICT, mathematics, geography, Latin, design technologies, physics, photocourse, Spanish, chemistry, geography, historical complex, French, art, German language.

Accommodation, meals, prices

The Epsom College campus includes 7 well-appointed man's residences and 5 women's residences. Each hostel has a cozy living room, cloakroom, kitchen, library, games room. All apartments in the buildings are equipped with furniture, appliances (tele-systems 3D). Free Wi-Fi is available on site.

Meals are organized on a full board basis in the school cafeteria. Practiced three meals a day. At the same time, children's access to water, fruit, snacks and milk is constantly available. A wide selection of European traditional dishes is offered daily in the cafeteria-dining room. For students with non-standard nutritional needs, it is possible to create a personal diet.

Most of the buildings of the college are old Victorian buildings, which are internally refurbished for the needs of modern students. In general, Epsom College provides excellent conditions for development, education. All classes, laboratories, lecture rooms and other auditoriums are equipped with the necessary equipment. In addition, there are an indoor swimming pool, playing fields, tennis courts, a large sports center, sports grounds, a dance hall, a stable.

Admission dates and extra charges

Studying year starts at Epsom College on September 1, and the autumn trimester ends on December 12th. Vacations are from October 18 to November 2. After the Christmas holidays, the period of intense studying begins again. The spring term lasts from January 3 to March 24. Students usually relax from school from February 13 to 22. The final trimester opens on April 12th. There are vacations on May 23 - 31, after which students continue the period of mastering new knowledge until June 26.

Upon admission, the institution will require a registration fee of £ 150 and a confirmation deposit of the studying plans in the college (equal to the cost of 1 trimester). Additional English lessons (EFL) are estimated by the college at 1200 GBP per trimester. Additional payments will be required for the curator and guardian agency.
