On the campus of the University of California, one of the most prestigious colleges in California, students get acquainted with the life of an American university and one of the most popular States in the country. Camp participants visit the world famous Hollywood and Beverly Hills, the beautiful beaches of Malibu and Venice, Disneyland and Universal Studio. Students use UCLA sports facilities, visit outdoor sports grounds, an outdoor pool, an indoor sports hall and gym, a university canteen, and many outdoor spaces.

Junior English

The program allows foreign students to improve their knowledge of the English language, get acquainted with the American academic culture, and study in the company of local students. Extracurricular activities, excursions to Los Angeles, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica open up American culture to students.

General English is 20 lessons (15 hours) per week. The program is focused on improving linguistic skills and pays attention to 4 main language aspects: speaking, listening, reading, writing. The program is built around the training of oral speech, the use of language in real life, confident and fluent communication. The maximum content of classes is 15 people.

Day Programme

  • Age - from 10 to 17 years,
  • The duration of training is from one week.

The daytime program is perfect for those who came for the summer holidays with their parents and checked into a hotel or have family housing in the area. Training takes place from morning to evening, weekly including:

  • 20 English lessons lasting 45 minutes,
  • Field trips: Santa Monica, Hollywood with Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, downtown Los Angeles and its attractions,
  • Themed evenings on campus: intellectual quizzes, watching movies, board and sports games, discos, karaoke and much more.

Studying in groups of 17 people, students constantly communicate with each other. Communication of students is the basis of the program, as the regular use of the acquired language skills effectively develops self-confidence, their knowledge and abilities. In the lessons, students are taught in an interactive form ways to improve reading, writing, speaking and listening skills, as well as options for easily memorizing new words and phrases. Studying does not overload the summer holidays of children, classes are exciting and interesting.

The internationality of the classes also contributes to more interesting learning - representatives of different countries learn English, supporting each other and making lasting friendships, exploring other cultures and customs for themselves. Professional teachers with many years of experience in the field of education support students at every step: from adaptation to graduation from the program.

The full-time program at UCLA lasts from one to several weeks of the student's choice. Students are given the opportunity to attend academic classes, activities and excursions with boarding students, while leaving campus in the evenings.

The cost of the program includes all language classes and teaching materials for them, entertainment on and off site, lunches and a graduate certificate.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Campus accommodation offers opportunities for socializing, meeting friends, visiting public places. The accommodation format is a bedroom with two single beds and a shared bathroom. Each room has a desk, a place for clothes in the closet. Boys and girls are located at opposite ends of the floor, carefully monitored by educators. Supervision is provided by camp staff, students observe curfews and required standards of behavior.

Students receive freshly prepared three meals a day:

  • Breakfast includes fruit juices, cereal, toast, pastries, preserves, tea, coffee, bacon, eggs, oatmeal, cookies and sauces. There is a well-stocked fruit salad bar and a selection of waffles.
  • Lunch and dinner are served in buffet style with dishes from around the world: the menu is changed daily and includes Asian, Mexican delicacies, hamburgers, fries, pizza, vegetables, an extensive salad bar. Dessert, tea and coffee are also served.
  • Packed lunches are provided to students on Saturday and Sunday when they go on full-day excursions.

Activities Embassy Summer UCLA Academy

UCLA Academy offers program participants specialized courses:

  • The surf program includes learning the basics of security, etiquette, a bit of practice. Classes are held at least 4 days a week, 2 hours are allocated for each session. All instructors are certified members of the International Serfing Association (ISA).
  • Rock climbing - a 4-day rock climbing program is designed for 2 hours every day, classes are supported by experienced and qualified instructors. Students learn the principles of climbing, the use of insurance, lowering, and more.
  • Coding and games is a curriculum developed by graduates of leading Ivy League universities. Students will study Fortnite, Overwatch, Minecraft, or League of Legends, and gain access to a lab equipped with 3D printers, computers, and other technologies needed to complete projects. 4 days a week, students practice coding, production of games, programming - at least 2 hours per session.
  • Multi-activity - a course that combines sports and extracurricular activities lasting 2 hours a day for 4 days. Activities include football and swimming, treasure hunting and team games.

From 16:30 to 17:30, all students will participate in extracurricular activities. Afternoon Activities:

  • Half day excursion
  • Art classes
  • Mini olympiad
  • Drama.

Students can visit local shops, go for a walk outside the campus only with the permission of the school teachers.

Advantages

Westwood Village is a 20-minute walk from the residence - there are many retail stores, cafes, restaurants, and a pharmacy.

Facilities and equipment at Embassy Summer UCLA Academy

  • All classrooms are located on the main campus of the University of California, not far from where students live. All classes use projectors, there is access to Wi-Fi. Small groups, maximum 12 students.
  • The bright and modern dining room is within walking distance of the residence. This is a buffet with a choice of many different world cuisines for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The menu changes every day, all dietary requests and needs can be met.
  • Shops on the campus selling sweets, drinks, and other items are open to summer shift students.
  • The campus has sports facilities, outdoor fields, an indoor sports hall with a gym and heated outdoor pools, they are located near the residence.
  • The hostel has a 24-hour reception, campus security and police, staff is monitored around the clock.
  • There is Wi-Fi throughout the campus.
  • Students have access to laundry facilities on site.
