DLD College is one of the first colleges in the UK and the only purpose-built school in the heart of London. The institution has a long history, well-established traditions, regular excellent assessments of commissions, and modern infrastructure. During the academic year, the college teaches first-class programs for school-age students, and during the calendar holidays, short-term thematic courses for children from 7 to 17 years old.

Day Camp

  • Age - from 7 to 13 years,
  • The duration of training is one week.

The day camp is open to students from 7 to 13 years old and offers active, interesting activities every weekday from 8:15 to 18:00.

The program includes English lessons in some academic subjects suitable for the initial age group. Training takes place in the format of a game and promotes concentration, increased interest in learning and passion for different sciences. Teachers have the opportunity to provide children with individual attention, since there are a small number of students in the classes - up to 12 people.

The schedule contains the following disciplines:

  • Music
  • Dance and drama.

The lessons are interconnected, so the knowledge that is given on them is applied. Children will study a variety of topics, participate in projects, communicate a lot with representatives of other countries and go on excursions. The tourist program includes visits to all the famous places of London: the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, Diana Memorial Square, Buckingham Palace and many others.

On days when trips are not provided, students will spend their free time drinking tea, needlework or active classes.

Get Ready for Medicine

  • The duration of training is two weeks

The popular Get Ready for Medicine programme has become a strong academic foundation for many young doctors in London. This intensive two-week course of 40 hours per week is specially designed for students aged 15-17 who want to become medical professionals.

The disciplines will be taught by British medical professionals and graduate students who are still studying at the university, but already have experience. They will be able to find an approach to young professionals, find a common language with them and an approach by which the educational material will be better remembered by them. Classes of up to 15 people promote hard work and communication between students and educators.

Opportunities provided by the program:

  • A full day of participation in a clinical seminar with an experienced doctor,
  • Clinical workshops,
  • Practical classes in biology and chemistry, including dissection of the heart and lungs,
  • Obtaining qualifications in first aid,
  • Visits to clinical institutions, pioneering medical research centers,
  • Gaining knowledge of medical ethics,
  • UCAT and BMAT profile exams: features of preparation.

Students will undertake a one-on-one research project that will include a presentation, an extended essay writing, and IT skills development. They will learn about the importance of gaining proper work experience and understand how to apply to study medicine at universities in the UK.  

In addition to building on medical knowledge, students will develop interpersonal skills, including teamwork, leadership, and communication, which are vital to a successful career in medicine.

The course includes specialized excursions to medical institutions, as well as entertainment trips to local attractions.

Summer Holidays

  • Students age: 12-17 years.

The summer camp is divided into two age groups: 12-14 (Explorers) and 15-17 years (Engagers).

 12-14 years old (Explorers)

Language lessons are held in the mornings, from Monday to Friday, and in the afternoon children will enjoy exciting additional activities aimed at broadening their horizons and consolidating the knowledge gained in the classroom. In total, classes last from 8:30 to 17:15: after young students, entertainment and joint games, excursions, holidays await.

The curriculum provides an opportunity to try yourself as a student of a British school in grades 9-10. Among the main subjects are English, mathematics, natural sciences, humanities, and art.

15-17 years old (Engagers)

A more complex, in-depth and varied curriculum for high school students, corresponding to the level of grades 11-12 of British schools. The week is divided into thematic educational blocks: students choose priority disciplines for them, and teachers draw up personal curricula based on this choice.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Accommodation in the boarding house is provided to students from 13 to 17 years old. Students are accommodated in single bedrooms with private bathrooms, but also have the opportunity to live with a neighbor: an already familiar friend, relative or local student if desired.

Residents of the boarding house are provided with three meals a day, which are served in the large dining room. A qualified team of chefs pampers children with dishes of different cuisines, prepared according to all the rules of healthy eating. If a student has dietary, medical, or religious dietary restrictions, culinary specialists will take this into account.

Full-time students also have access to meals during their stay on campus.

Activities DLD College Summer School

The capital of England is known for its vibrant culture and rich history, world-class museums, historical sites and, of course, red buses! Students will be able to walk the streets and feel like they are on the set of films such as Harry Potter, Oliver Twist and James Bond. In their free time, students have the opportunity to explore London's shops, cafes and restaurants.

Each course includes trips to local attractions, visits to museums and entertainment centers, tourist trips to Oxford, Cambridge, Windsor and Brighton.

Facilities and equipment at DLD College Summer School

The DLD College campus is within walking distance of London's main attractions: the Houses of Parliament, Westminster, the National Gallery, the Tower of London and The Eye, Trafalgar Square and Buckingham Palace. Near museums and historical sites, there are shopping districts where students can buy souvenirs and have fun.

The entire school infrastructure is open to students of vacation courses:

Admission dates and extra charges

Summer holidays on the DLD College campus take place in July and August. Students can choose one or two weeks of education.

Enrolment process

For admission to one of the courses, the applicant must:

  • Fill out an online application form,
  • Provide the required documents,
  • Expect a positive response on admission: availability is a decisive factor in enrollment,
  • Pay £500 to book a seat,
  • Get a visa with the help of an invitation to study,
  • Pay the remaining amount of tuition and arrive on campus.

Perspectives

Certificates issued to graduates complement the personal portfolios of students and show their diligence in learning, specialized knowledge and skills.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Applicants must provide personal documents: passport, visa or residence permit in the UK, medical insurance. It is important to take care of the validity of documents in advance, as the country has special requirements for foreigners.

The level of knowledge of the English language is not important for enrollment, but the student will be more comfortable with conversational skills (from B1).
