About the educational program: Some programs - theology, dental medicine - have a structure of two integrated levels (1st cycle and 2nd cycle). The integrated cycle includes a set of training modules, writing and defending a thesis or project / internship report. After completing an integrated master's degree (usually 10 semesters) with 300 ECTS credits, students earn a master's degree and are considered professionally qualified.

Quick overview of Master's degree - from 21 years: The duration of the master's degree is 3-4 semesters, from 90 to 120 ECTS credits. This cycle of study requires:

  • Attending educational modules;
  • Developing and publicly defending an original dissertation / implementation of an internship or project;

Accommodation, meals, prices

There are no youth hostels at the Catholic University, but there are two hostels nearby:

  • Colegio Universitário Pio XII;
  • Colegio Universitário Montes Claros.

RUF provides a residence for girls: it is located halfway between the Cidade Universitária and Entre-Campos metro stations, a 15-minute walk from the UCP.

It is advisable to start looking for accommodation before leaving for Portugal, choosing between the main forms of residence: residence, common room or house. The Catholic University of Portugal (UCP) has support services for foreign candidates seeking housing.

Activities Catholic University of Portugal

The town offers water sports on the river, on the beaches of the south coast of Estoril. It offers a gastronomy that captivates everyone who tastes it, and the famous pastéis de nata are renowned worldwide. The city has a lively nightlife - in the bars of Bairro Alto, Cais de Sodre, numerous nightclubs, many of which are located on the banks of the Tagus River.

In hot weather, the city hosts countless open-air music festivals featuring famous performers - Nós Alive, Super Bock-Super Rock, Rock in Rio, to more themed ones like Sumol Summer Fest on the outskirts of Lisbon.

Popular events are Saints Memorial Days in June. They are held in different districts of Lisbon, from Castelo to Mouraria, with a lot of music, dancing to the rhythm of popular songs. Streets lined with garlands are saturated with the scent of fried sardines and the scent of basil. St. Anthony's Day, June 13, is a national holiday and a big party is held at night from June 12.

Tuition fees are based on actual costs, which vary depending on the equipment, premises, laboratory needs of each course.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Applicants provide documents:

  • High school diploma or legally equivalent diploma;
  • Certificate of the National Final Exam of Secondary Education / Passing the Portuguese National Exams for the entrance examinations required for the course you are applying for;
  • Copy of the passport;
  • The photo;
  • Sworn statement that the applicant is eligible for international student status;
  • Diploma of secondary education with a complete list of courses (courses taken, their classification);
  • Payment of the registration fee (in case of refusal, the amount is not refundable);
  • Students from countries outside the European area must have health insurance valid in Portugal.
