Do all schools provide ESL courses for foreign students? How important is it?
Yes, universities offer an English language course for foreign students, but keep in mind that for enrollment you will still have to have some knowledge (usually it is B2-C1 on the CEFR scale) - otherwise you simply will not enter the university, which means that ESL will not be available to you. Support is offered to students who have been able to enroll but are still experiencing a little difficulty – but ESL will not become a major part of your studies, so you should not rely on it too much.
University Preparation Course. Cost and Fees for foreign student
The cost of preparing for university in Wales varies depending on the institution. For EU students, fees are capped at £9,250/year, similar to UK students. International students can expect to pay between £11,500 and £19,000.
Admission Criteria for Welsh Academic Institutions
Requirements for enrollment can differ significantly. International applicants must ensure their diploma is acknowledged by Welsh institutions. For English proficiency, a specific IELTS test for UKVI is usually required, with most departments asking for IELTS 6.0 for undergraduate and 6.5 for Master's programs.
