Description of Cardiff Sixth Form College Wales

Cardiff Sixth Form College, as the name implies, is located in the capital of Wales, Cardiff, within walking distance of the city center. The major airports of Cardiff and Bristol can be reached in 30-40 minutes by taxi, and trains run to London airports (approximately 200 kilometers to the center of London, traveling time is about 2 hours).

The capital of Wales is a hospitable, small and comfortable city, with all the infrastructure advantages of a metropolis. In architecture, Edwardian and Victorian buildings are fancifully and harmoniously combined with modern, innovative buildings, which makes the city look unique and memorable. Here there is one of the lowest cost of living in the whole of Britain, while the level is high enough - this makes it one of the ideal cities for students in the United Kingdom. The city is located on the famous Bristol Canal, which makes it an important port hub of communication and trade.

Cardiff Sixth Form College is a private co-educational school for students from 16 to 19 years offering A-level and Cambridge Pre-U graduation programs. Also here the student can pass qualified, specialized studying courses to the chosen university. There is a Cambridge Pre-U program, a separate course on philosophy and critical logic, a course for applicants from Oxford and Cambridge. Specialized courses for pupils planning to enter the faculties of medicine, veterinary medicine or dentistry have also been prepared. The total number of students is about 300 people, of which 270 are studying at a boarding school in UK. The college is considered to be one of the best in statistics academic achievement.

The director is now Liam Hughes: he was educated at the Irish school of Drimnagh Castle, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a certificate of the right to teach (junior and high school).

Cardiff Sixth Form College is a valid and active member of The Spectator. This is not a specialized language school, so foreign students can not count on the supporting course of EFL (English as a foreign language): for the studying it is necessary to demonstrate the sufficiently high level of language knowledge. But there are a summer boarding schools in Europe with the study of English. Also within the walls of the college, you can effectively prepare for the IELTS and A-level exams: according to statistics, graduates receive scores no lower than 6.5.

Marketing and Admission Director at Dukes Education

When should a foreign student apply to UK schools? What to prepare for upon admission?

It is best to apply in the fall semester - before September, in which you want to start your studies. Entrance exams are usually waiting for applicants. Almost everyone takes an English test, so make sure your language level is strong enough: listening, reading, writing, speaking. Sometimes schools arrange entrance exams in the subjects that the student plans to study: for example, Cardiff Sixth Form College and Earlscliffe test applicants in mathematics. Often, a combination of examinations "English + Mathematics" is offered to students who plan to study at the GCSE and A-level.

Review about Cardiff Sixth Form College Wales

Natalia
(26.11.2021)
A great educational institution for children who want to learn! My daughter graduated from the program last year. Now she is studying at Durham at the Faculty of Philology, as she originally wanted. Hotel thanks to Smpas for their help with admission, in particular for the selection of tutors and the provision of test samples. The tutors were wonderful, especially we liked the tutor in academic English! Since my daughter was initially high, with most tutors she became bored in the second lesson. And your teacher was able to interest her!))
