Classic Course Residential/Homestay

First Certificate Residential/Homestay

The course is specially designed for students who are preparing for the Cambridge First Certificate (FCE) exam. Students will receive practical materials Cambridge English B2 First, regular assessments, recommendations for self-study. Students can take the Cambridge English First exam as part of the course (at an additional cost).

Classics + Basketball

The course program includes 15 hours of English language training plus 9 hours of professional basketball training per week. Coaches plan classes to develop the natural abilities and skills of each student. Students receive professional training in key areas, develop skills including dribbling, throwing, passing, attacking, defense, standard positions of the game and many other techniques that will help to overtake the opponent. Working in small groups, coaches strive to unlock the full potential of players, so the course is suitable for all skill levels - from beginner to advanced. Coaching sessions include learning action patterns, motor exercises, and developing coordination before moving on to fit scenarios. The course is taught entirely in English, so students become more confident in both basketball and English.

Careers in Medicine Programme

Participants of the course get an idea of admission to the university, about the requirements necessary to pass the entrance exams to medical universities - UKCAT, BMAT, develop communication skills, problem solving, teamwork, get an idea of various professions in medicine from doctor, dentist to veterinarian and optometrist. Practical skills, knowledge of biology, chemistry, physics, including English lessons are developed.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students live on full board in a residential house/family.

Residence:

  • Common rooms for 1-4 people with bathrooms.

  • Hot lunch and hot dinner in the school cafeteria from Monday to Friday.

Host families:

  • Meals on weekends for homescholy students.
  • The opportunity to live in an English-speaking family, to practice the language outside the classroom.

  • Comfortable, nice houses with caring owners.
  • The maximum homestue stay for students under the age of 16 is 27 nights.

Activities Canterbury School of English Summer Camp

  • Full day excursions (1r./week): London, Brighton, Cambridge
  • Half-day excursions (1r./week): Leeds Castle, Dover Castle, Chatham Historic Shipyard
  • Additional full-day excursions: Thorpe Park, Windsor, Oxford.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

After choosing a course, advance booking is required indicating the number of students, age range, preferred dates, length of stay.

For summer groups, the standard payment schedule is as follows:

  • A deposit of 10% of the total cost of the course (non-refundable), paid on March 1 and provides a reservation.
  • Installments 20% of the course price until May 1.
  • The balance - 70% of the course fee - is paid at least one month before arrival. Some centres have different payment schedules, which will be described in detail in the booking form.
  • The registration fee of £100 is payable at the time of booking for all private courses. The registration fee is non-refundable.

- for Foundation and Pathway programs, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are usually required, respectively

- the deadline normally closes in January, for TOP HEIs and, as a rule, in March in other universities
- for a bachelor, a Foundation or Pathway preparatory program a completed A-level, IB, High School + IELTS / TOEFL are required
- for Masters you need a graduated higher education, in some cases you need a pre-Masters program
- MBA requires completed higher education, work experience preferably at least 2-3 years, etc.
