Flight Attendant Diploma 

Participants in the programs explore personal strengths and weaknesses, values, beliefs, maturity, honesty, and emotional control. The course discusses problems that may be encountered while traveling abroad, such as cultural differences, moral norms and political expectations.

The program includes the study of:

  • Leadership – how it relates to the professional and personal aspects of a person's life.
  • Team building are key components that allow a person to engage in productive team behavior, to manage the behavior of others in the social circle and the cycle of conflicts that may arise.
  • Professional Development – The course covers all aspects of professional development, including resume writing, job application cover letters, job sources and interview skills.
  • Helping travelers with disabilities – how to understand and make a positive and professional contribution to working with guests and other members of the community with disabilities.
  • Presentation of the student project - students deepen their knowledge in the field of air transportation, choose and study the airline, conduct a detailed presentation in front of the class.
  • Getting to know indigenous peoples and their importance for tourism in Vancouver – this course provides an opportunity to look at the city through the eyes of a tourist, to explore the importance of multiculturalism.
  • Students talk about the development of the professional image to which airlines aspire, self-confidence and self-esteem.
  • Food safety regulations, especially in the food and beverage departments in the hospitality industry.
  • The certification required to serve alcohol will teach you how to perform important roles and responsibilities related to the supply of alcohol.
  • Standard First Aid with CPR and AED – This course teaches students how to deal with medical emergencies they may encounter on an airplane.

Participants will receive aircraft safety training; will learn to identify and manage situations that may threaten the safety of the aircraft, crew and passengers.

The cabin fire management course provides information on the identification of fire types, fire detection and extinguishing systems, available equipment and procedures for extinguishing fires on board and outside the aircraft.

"Aviation Systems" - young people study boeing 737-700, Airbus 320, Boeing 767-300, Boeing 747-400 aircraft, learn about the operation of cabin doors and exits above the wing, electrical galley systems, oxygen systems, emergency lighting, communication systems, main panels, pointers, passenger seats, controls and toilets.

An airport introduction seminar will allow you to explore the layout and services offered at the international airport in your city.

"Service and Safety Announcements" – information on general guidelines for demonstrations, delivery of announcements using hands-free systems on board the aircraft.

A seminar for an aviation company introduces the aviation industry and/or the role of a flight attendant with a visit to the company.

"Emergency Training" – participants will learn about the different types of evacuation, crew responsibilities and procedures in emergency situations; investigate the order of evacuation on land and on water. Successful completion of this course includes obtaining a certificate of standard first aid with CPR level C and AED.

"In-flight service procedures, blocks and pairs" – an overview of the various on-board services offered by airlines across the industry, including wine assessment and service.

  • Students gain the knowledge and skills to advise and sell airline-related products in a retail or wholesale business environment.
  • Amadeus is one of the largest global distribution systems in the world. This course will teach you everything you need to know about booking flights.
  • Career days (4 in total) students get acquainted with the travel and tourism industry, go to places or meet guest speakers.
  • Students learn how to calculate the cost of international air tickets, advise customers on the optimal route and price that meet their needs.
  • Professional sales skills – this block provides knowledge and skills to determine the needs of the client, select the right product and complete the sale.
  • Comprehensive customer management – students will learn about the importance of documentation, medical requirements, travel insurance and the airfare replacement process.
  • The SABRE Computer Reservation course provides the knowledge and skills to book trips using the SABRE Red real-time booking system for flight bookings, hotel bookings and ground transportation.
  • The World Destinations 1-3 program provides knowledge and understanding of major tourist destinations, their main attractions and geographical locations around the world.
  • Lifestyle Tourism – information about various niche markets that are an important component of the modern tourism industry.
  • Land Transport is focused on providing the knowledge and skills to advise and sell rail, road and bus products in a retail or wholesale business environment.

Canada's ILAC College of Tourism has established partnerships with several Canadian boarding schools, allowing you to transition to a university program.

Under a licensing agreement with Georgia State College, located in Barry, Ontario, students can now enroll in certain programs at ILAC in Toronto.

Fanshawe has established a partnership with ILAC International College. This partnership allows international students to take advantage of Fanshawe's high-quality programs and study in downtown Toronto.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Applicants provide, together with the completed application form:

  • A Grade 12 diploma from a Canadian high school or an educational institution of equivalent level.
  • An IELTS score of 6.0 or higher, none of the parts is lower than 5.5 (or equivalent).

Or:

  • A minimum of 2 semesters of full-time non-ESL study at an English-speaking secondary/higher education institution.
  • Test in English as a Foreign Language TOEFL CBT 163, IBT 57 (or equivalent).
