Junior English

  • The maximum group size is 18 people.
  • English proficiency ranges from Elementary to Proficiency.

The program includes 15 hours of English lessons per week and can be adapted for students with a lower level of language proficiency. All students take written and oral tests on the first day to make sure they are placed in classes according to their level of knowledge. Each student receives a book from the Oxford International Course with all the necessary study materials for a language course.

Teenagers are interested in a wide range of topics that are related to their life and interests. The summer program provides exciting lessons, allows students to feel confident, actively use English in everyday communication.

The lessons are divided into two categories:

  • The academic English course focuses on standard linguistic blocks, aimed at developing students' communicative competence by assimilating new knowledge, expanding vocabulary, and applying it in practice in real conditions.
  • The Language for Life block is designed to develop skills that will benefit students outside the classroom. These lessons combine different modules: work skills, account, society, culture, creativity. At the weekly review lesson, students work out new skills in the format of a conversation club (the structure depends on the language level of students). Projects are focused on collaboration and creativity.

The school offers additional learning options:

  • Trinity GESE Exam
  • World of Work (ASL) Curriculum: For students from 14 years old with level B1.

Accommodation, meals, prices

OI Brighton Villas Summer offers students two types of accommodation:

  • Homestay - Accommodation in a local family's house in double or triple rooms with other students. Host families live a 40-minute bus ride to school. Homestay provides a real life experience in Britain.
  • Residences - dormitory accommodation is subject to availability.

Participants receive three meals a day:

  • Breakfast and dinner are provided with families. The family provides a weekly washing machine.
  • Hot lunches are provided at the school week, and packed lunches are prepared for families on weekends.

The first meal will be dinner on the day of arrival, and the last is a packed lunch on the day of departure. A barbecue is held every Wednesday at The Villas before evening events.

For students living in families, a curfew is set depending on age:
