A-Levels

  • Age – 16+;
  • Duration – 2 years;
  • The language of instruction is English.

The academic qualifications that have proven themselves in the UK are generally recognised at national level and are sufficient evidence for admission to British higher education institutions.

Intended for students over 16 years of age. As a rule, they are studied for a two-year period, after which a person receives a document recognized at the national and world level. Although it is a British qualification, it is highly respected outside the Commonwealth states; even some Russian universities consider A-level to be a sufficient qualification for admission.

As a rule, universities require a minimum of 3 A-level. There are no compulsory subjects. Students are free to choose the topics that they think will benefit them the most in the future. The college offers the following A-level courses:

  • English language and literature,
  • French
  • Math
  • Biology
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • History
  • Geography
  • psychology, economics,
  • art
  • information technologies
  • modern foreign languages: French, German and Spanish, Chinese.

For the assessment of A-level, written exams are used, which are held after the completion of a full two-year course. Coursework and other ongoing work during the main term of study can also have an impact on the final assessment.

The grading scale varies from A* to E. Students who do not meet the minimum standard receive a grade of U. To get E, you need to score 50%, D - 60%, and so on. Students who complete 80% of the assignment in all modules receive an A*. If a student fails in an exam, they will have to retake the entire exam again; re-delivery of individual modules is not provided. At the same time, students can make an unlimited number of attempts.

1 Year A-Levels

  • Age – 16+;
  • Duration – 1 year;
  • The language of instruction is English.

It is a shorter, richer and more intensive version of the UK's A-level qualification for students with excellent academic performance. Its duration is 1 year. The recipients of the program are students over 16 years of age. At the end of the course, the teenager receives a nationally recognized qualification sufficient to enter any British, Canadian, Australian or New Zealand university that enjoys well-deserved attention and respect in dozens of other countries in Europe, Asia and America, as well as in South Africa.

The lion's share of universities insists on the need to successfully master at least 3 courses of the A-level level. Unlike the AS level, which is equivalent to studying in the first year of A-level, this program is a full-fledged analogue of the latter; universities consider its results sufficient for admission.

The program does not contain a fixed set of disciplines, students choose courses at their discretion. In Bexhill, you can choose directions such as:

  • English language and literature,
  • French
  • mathematics
  • biology
  • physics
  • chemistry
  • history
  • geography
  • psychology
  • economics
  • art
  • information technologies,
  • modern foreign languages: French, German and Spanish, Chinese.

Assessment takes place through written exams consisting of several modules. If a student does not cope with one of the modules, he must retake the entire exam. However, students can make an unlimited number of attempts.

Vocational Level 3

  • Age – 16+;
  • Duration – 2 years;
  • The language of instruction is English.

Professional Level Course 3 is an excellent academic qualification recognised at the national level; is included in the list of qualifications, the presence of which is a condition for admission to universities in the UK. It is often referred to as BTEC, after one of the licensed examination boards.

There are 2 varieties:

  • Large professional programs equivalent to 2 or 3 A-level. Include the entire training program or most of it. Textbook examples here should be considered sports, music, performing arts, etc. In case you get 2 equivalents of A-level, you will need to get another one. As a rule, such courses are designed for one sector of the economy. Often, students also undergo an internship, which allows them to gain valuable experience and master valuable skills.
  • Applied general qualifications equivalent to one A-level. Can be combined with the latter or with any other courses or qualifications. These courses are quite diverse and include such non-standard options as applied biology, bioethics or forensics.

Both types of programs can be used for university admission, although large programs can also serve as an excellent help in finding a job.

Study Year

  • Age – 16+;
  • Duration – 1 year;
  • The language of instruction is English.

This one-year qualification is called AS and roughly corresponds to half of the A-level. Along with the acquisition of an AS or professional certificate, the program is designed to improve the skills of speaking and writing English, subject disciplinary knowledge of each student.

Students take courses in their chosen areas of study. This systematic vocational education can, if desired, be supplemented by a wide range of optional and extracurricular activities.

Upon completion of the program, graduates receive a certificate of national standard. The AS level is not enough for admission to most British universities, but it can be counted when passing the A-level, and is also quoted by employers in a wide range of working specialties, including those related to modern IT and creative technologies.

Upon completion of the program, students take written examinations. In case of a satisfactory grade (up to and including E), the student receives a nationally recognized certificate. In case of unsatisfactory grade, the exams can be retaken an unlimited number of times.

An important role is given to sports and aesthetic training. Along with traditional physical education classes, devoted mainly to athletics exercises, students can practice within the framework of sports academies or dozens of electives, both individual and team sports are available to them. In addition, the program includes music, performing or visual arts.

Along with theoretical training, linguistic and vocational training, students can undergo industrial training, which allows them to apply the theoretical knowledge gained in practice.
