Badminton School Summer is a children's language camp in Bristol. The educational program in the summer months is organized by the UKLC network of British educational centers: in total, it includes 11 educational institutions across the country, on the basis of which summer camps are held. The curriculum is hosted by prestigious boarding schools or universities, so the conditions for teaching foreign students here are excellent.

English Plus Multi Activity

A curriculum in which a variety of elective classes are added to the study of English - from a different sport to creative activity. All sessions have their own structure and are led by experienced trainers. Every day, summer school students take part in 2-3 classes in turn, covering different types of activities:

  • Tennis
  • Basketball
  • Volleyball
  • Swimming
  • Photography master classes
  • Dancing
  • Football
  • Drama circle and others.

English Plus Dance

  • Age: 11-14, 14-17 years old
  • Dates: July 5 - August 16
  • Duration: 2 weeks.

English lessons in the standard program are supplemented by dance classes, which are conducted under the guidance of a professional dance teacher. Students of two age groups - 11-14, 14-17 years old - can choose for themselves one of several areas:

  • Street dance
  • Modern jazz
  • Modern dance
  • Musical West End.

The first part of the training is devoted to the study of new steps and compositions for compiling an individual program. The second part of the course is devoted to the practice and development of the learned elements for the reporting presentation in the final of the course.

English Plus Drama

  • Age: 8-17 years old
  • Dates: July 5 - August 16
  • Duration: 2 weeks.

Learning English, complemented by lessons in a drama circle, will allow children to improve their language level in a creative setting. Drama lessons are conducted by an experienced teacher who will guide students through different elements of acting - improvisation, pantomime, role-playing games and so on. At the end of the course, students will have a reporting performance: usually it is either a staging of a scene of a famous play, or a mini-performance in its own script. The total training load every week will be 15 hours of English + 9 hours of drama.

English Plus Football

  • Age: 11-14, 14-17 years old

Such a program will appeal to those who love football and are ready to play it every free minute! On the course, the children will be able to devote this every day after lunch. Trainings aimed at improving the technical skills and abilities of students of all ages are conducted by professional trainers: they will teach children to understand the tactics of matches or game systems and develop a game strategy. The program will include regular football matches and a weekly open game for everyone. Two age groups are accepted for the course: 11-14 years old and 14-17 years old.

English Plus Intensive English

  • Age: 8-17 years old

An enhanced English language program for those who want to maximize their learning outcomes in 2 weeks. The intensive training course includes 15 hours of basic English learning + 9 hours of additional classes every week. In the lessons, students will develop their skills with the help of interactive programs and classes according to their age and starting knowledge of the language.

English Plus Life Skills

  • Age: 14-17 years old

The curriculum for the study of English and the development of useful life skills is designed for older children from 14 to 17 years. In total, the course curriculum will include 15 hours of English + 9 hours of life skills. Here are some useful personal skills they will get here:

  • Academic Writing
  • Self-confidence
  • Designing competency and trust.

At the end of the training, the children will need to submit a project work, the implementation of which will require them to apply all these skills.

Ministays

  • Age: 8-11 years old
  • Dates: June 30-August 1, August 1-September 21
  • Duration: 1 to 4 weeks.

This is a year-round curriculum for younger students, so the dates fall not only in the summer months, but also a little in the fall. The course includes a standard English study program, multi-activity and an excursion program to the sights and cultural places of Great Britain. The duration of training is from 6 nights to 4 weeks. The extracurricular program (excursions and events) is quite flexible and can be adapted to the needs of the study group.

In addition to the standard Ministay program, UKLC offers groups integration into a British high school for some time from their educational course.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students of all ages are offered two accommodation options to stay while studying at Badminton School Summer.

  • Host family. They are carefully selected by the school, live no further than half an hour from the school, offer the student a separate room, the necessary amenities and homeliness
  • Accommodation in a residence (rooms for 1, 2 or 3-4 people). The residential building offers students spacious and bright bedrooms with beautiful views of the city.

Students eat either in the families where they live, on half board (tomorrow and dinner), or in the school canteen at full board (breakfast, lunch, dinner).

Activities Badminton School Summer Camp

The summer program of Badminton School Summer includes an entertainment part, including various activities on campus, excursions to local attractions and cultural places:
