Ampleforth College BSC Summer is a vacation program for studying English combined with additional activities, which takes place at the prestigious Ampleforth College. This is a traditional British boarding school offering high quality classical English education.
In addition, Ampleforth College is widely known for its sports facilities, so during the summer holidays there are several training courses that combine learning English and different sports. Summer school educational programs are available for two age categories of students - from 7 to 13 years old, and from 13 to 17 years old. This is possible due to the increased training load, which on this program is 23 hours a week. In intensive classes, as well as in general, qualified teachers pay attention to the study of the main sections of the English language: reading, writing, listening, speaking, studying vocabulary and grammar.

In this course, learning English is complemented by an interactive and fun activity - water sports. The weekly training load on the program includes 15 hours of English learning + 6 hours of water sports. In English classes, students will learn a common language, and water sports are held under the guidance of experienced instructors.
English + Tennis

On the course, students and teenagers can harmoniously combine the study of English and tennis. Ampleforth College has excellent tennis courts for this purpose. The weekly curriculum here consists of 15 hours of General English + 6 hours of tennis lessons (these are three 2-hour workouts). At the tennis lessons, qualified instructors from the LTA Tennis Association are working with the guys, so students will learn from real professionals.
English + Golf

A curriculum that allows you to combine the study of spoken English and golf lessons in conditions close to professional. The school has special golf courses, and qualified instructors from the local golf club will work with the children. The training load on the course will be 15 hours of learning English + 4 days of golf training every week. In English classes, students from different countries will work with all the main sections of the language: vocabulary, grammar, as well as train conversation, listening, reading and writing.

The English Plus Adventure Sports Summer Course is perfect for kids and teens who have too much energy to just sit at a desk!
The program combines English lessons and sports, creative and leisure activities. In the mornings, interactive, interesting lessons are held to help improve your knowledge and skills of English. All teachers are accredited by CELTA or an equivalent commission. The emphasis is on fluent, competent and confident oral speech - but the rest of the skills are not forgotten (reading, writing, listening).
And sports training and adventure are given time in the afternoon and in the evenings! All coaches and educators have the appropriate certificates, certifications, are fully responsible for the safety and comfort of students. Water sports lead to the constant delight of children (here the groups are especially small in order to comply with safety requirements). Summer camp is always a memory, especially about the fun evening activities: it's the best way to relax and make new friends from all over the world!

Accommodation, meals, prices
As part of the summer educational program, older children (13 to 17 years old) are offered accommodation in a school dormitory. The children are distributed in the residence in rooms for one, two or four people. The rooms are furnished and equipped with necessary amenities for living. The dormitories also have common lounges, where students can relax and spend time with informal communication.
Meals for participants of the summer school are organized in full board (three times a day, including snacks) in the local dining room. Also, during field events, the guys receive a packed lunch.

In their free time, entertainment or cultural events are held for students of the summer school - concerts, quizzes, competitions. The Ampleforth College campus is located in the suburbs of Yorkshire, a 45-minute drive from downtown York. Here, students can enjoy the calm atmosphere of the countryside, far from the bustling city. In addition, the school building has its historical importance. The nearest airport is Leeds Bradford, located 48 miles from the campus.
The campus itself is well equipped: the school has a sports hall, an indoor pool, beautiful tennis courts, playing fields for football, rugby, cricket, a dining room, natural areas, an orchard, treadmills and more.

Amplefort College's summer educational program runs from July 6 to August 17. Depending on the course, the duration is one or two weeks. Students arrive on Sundays and study programs start every Monday.
