Educational process

The summer camp approach to teaching is based on the integration of specialized skills and language (CLIL), which provides a holistic approach to learning. Things to know about

Staff are always on duty on campus to provide supervision during breaks, evenings and weekends. Supervision is carried out around the clock, students are not allowed to go outside unaccompanied in the evenings. During the trips, the children will have free time in which they can walk around the study area with their classmates.

Explorers and Engagers Summer Camp

  • Age — from 13 to 17 years old,
  • The duration of the training is two weeks.

The Explorers and Enthusiasts Summer Program lasts for two weeks. Each week is dedicated to classes aimed at practicing certain skills:

  • First week: Entrepreneurship or Hiking,
  • Week Two: STEAM or Speeches and Debates.

Each direction involves specialized classes with specialists, exciting lectures and practice. Lessons under the guidance of teachers will provide a valuable base of knowledge and skills that will become the basis for further study and development.

  • Enterprise

Students will delve into the fundamentals of economics, business, and entrepreneurship while gaining insight into activities outside of the classroom. The camp empowers young minds to think like economists and business managers, researching economic growth and predicting business success. With dynamic projects and challenges, the curriculum covers everything from developing strategies and business plans to marketing prowess, winning brand positions, the basics of finance, and networking skills. The program includes visits to local enterprises, communication with industry professionals, and gaining practical experience. This unique opportunity extends to real-world research, where students will analyze markets, interview locals, and present the results to business analysts' plans.

  • Hiking

A four-day outdoor hiking experience aimed at transferring skills, building self-confidence through numerous activities. Students will learn basic survival skills: reading maps, making a fire, preparing for a trip, tying knots and ropes, cooking in the fresh air. A lot of time is devoted to practicing teamwork and leadership skills, accepting challenges, and solving problems.

  • STEAM

STEAM Camp offers a dynamic fusion of academics, language learning, and experiential learning centered around STEAM subjects: Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. From delving into computer science and robotics, exploring the consequences of artificial intelligence, unraveling the mysteries of human biology to solving environmental problems, engineering solutions, workshops and lectures will introduce children to different approaches to learning, organically intertwining academic content with the acquisition of softer life skills. The curriculum emphasizes providing competence in interpersonal communication for informal academic discussions, presentations of subject knowledge.

  • Speeches and debates

The Speech and Debate Camp is designed to empower through voice and civic discourse. The focus is on the development of effective verbal communication, cooperation with other people. Camp participants will take part in workshops on the basics of speech and debate: the program will include an introduction to different styles of debate, starting with individual, group and larger committees. The course aims to help build an informed and well-articulated community through the natural human talent for public speaking.

Regardless of the choice of thematic courses, students will find a comfortable residence, a diverse leisure program with campus activities and excursions. Pupils benefit from their summer holidays through valuable specialized knowledge, English language lessons and immersion in the daily life of the Canadian population.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Summer camp residences offer double bedrooms with single beds, en-suite bathrooms; In common use there is a living room, a kitchen area with appliances. Cooking full meals in the kitchen is not provided, but students will be able to provide themselves with simple snacks.

All pupils living in the boarding house are provided with three meals a day: breakfasts are served in the residence, lunches and dinners are served in the dining room. The menu is made up of dishes using fresh ingredients, portions are prepared before meals. Qualified chefs are responsible for the quality of the food, who, upon request, can provide an alternative menu for special religious, dietary, medical needs.

Activities Academic Camp Canada, New Brunswick

From Monday to Thursday, students are immersed in the natural beauty of the campus and its surroundings. As the sun sets, the camp comes alive with a whirlwind of exciting activities: discos, night swimming in the river, intellectual games, campfire songs and many others.  At the end of the week, students are offered the opportunity to experience the vibrant life of the local community through music concerts and festivals.

On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, there are field trips: students will experience the thrill of watching whales in their natural habitat, immersing themselves in the rich history of the region, hiking in the forest and trips to amusement parks. Students will enjoy the Fundy Trail, which beckons with coastal views and hiking trails that offer the opportunity to admire the pristine beauty of nature. No visit to New Brunswick would be complete without a trip to the famous Hopewell Cliffs, where children will witness the stunning phenomenon of the world's highest tides shaping the landscape.

Facilities and equipment at Academic Camp Canada, New Brunswick

New Brunswick is a province teeming with natural wonders. Its crown jewel is the Fundy National Park, where students can explore forests, cascading waterfalls, and coastlines: the Bay of Fundy is known for having the highest tides in the world, and the Hopewell Cliffs feature flowerpot-shaped rock formations that are periodically washed by high waves.

The 125-acre campus is located in Rothesay, close to Saint John Airport. The view from the windows overlooks the beautiful Kennebekasis River, the coast of which is safely equipped for walking, swimming. It has state-of-the-art classrooms, science halls of up to 40,000 square feet, a fitness center, and an outdoor area equipped with tennis courts, football fields, and other sports facilities.

Admission dates and extra charges

Summer courses are held in July-August. Students can choose the format of study that suits them: with accommodation in residence or only a day visit to campus. The duration of the shifts is two weeks, the full-time program is shorter than the residential course by four days.

The price already includes:

  • Familiarization with the important details of the program: start dates, duration, conditions,
  • Filling out a booking form, in which it is necessary to indicate the presence of any medical or dietary peculiarities. At the same stage, the collection of documents begins.
  • Reservation of a place by paying a fee – part of the cost of the course,
  • Preparation of visa documents,
  • Course customization: choice of extracurricular activities, trips, type of accommodation,
  • Five days prior to arrival, the entire course fee must be paid,
  • Taking an online English proficiency test on the camp website,
  • Arrive at the campus for accommodation, attend an introductory evening and start your studies.
