Also on the spot you will need to open a bank accounton and show the availability of funds (putting an amount equal to the cost of study + residence for the academic year).

A copy of the bank confirmation of payment
A bank statement demonstrating that you have at least $6000 in your account
A certificate of residence or registration from local municipal services
A certificate of no criminal record (issued by your city's Department of Internal Affairs), which doesn't require translation
Two color photos, measuring 3x4 cm each
A letter from your educational institution
Your international passport, along with a copy of the main page. You'll retain the original passport, but the consulate will take the copy.
Your national passport, including a copy of the main page and the page with your residence permit
Funds to pay the visa application fee (the exact amount depends on the applicant's country)
Lastly, the visa application form, which you'll fill out at the consulate
