Associate degree

The Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts program at Virginia Wesleyan University offers students the opportunity to receive academic training in a wide range of liberal arts. The program is designed to develop critical thinking, communication skills and a wide range of knowledge, which will be the basis for a successful career and further education.

Students who choose the Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts program study a variety of subjects in the humanities: literature, history, philosophy, social sciences, art. The program promotes the development of analytical and research skills, the ability to think critically, which helps students develop their intellectual abilities and expand their horizons.

Completion of the Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts program requires the successful completion of a certain number of credit hours and the fulfillment of all requirements set forth by the program.   • STUDY Grant – provided in the field of education and requires students to have a cumulative GPA of 3.25, successfully pass the Praxis I exam, ensure that they complete their education, and agree to work as a qualified teacher in a field that is in demand in a public or private elementary or secondary school serving low-income students for four years after completing their degree. Rewards are $4,000 per year, with a maximum of $16,000 .
