  • Established: in 2009.
  • Location: Campbell, California, USA
  • Educational programs: 9-12 grades (high school)
  • Type of studying: mixed
  • Total number of students: 430 people.

The Independent College of Valley International Academy is located in the small town of Campbell, near San Jose in California. Here, both American citizens and foreign students are studied, who want to get a quality, practical-oriented education. High school in America provides not only effective educational programs - here students are taught to live independently in the modern world, to educate socially valuable and developed personalities, the skill of critical thinking, an objective perception of reality, a sense of tolerance and mutual respect. The secret of success lies in a balanced curriculum combining intensive English lessons and academic studies in basic subjects, as well as in the professionalism of teachers. Through studying at the Valley International Academy, a student from anywhere in the world can effectively prepare for an education in the US, enroll in the chosen college and university, get the desired specialty and build a successful international career.

Valley International Academy was founded in 2009 by Susan Xu, a businessman and technology specialist: her small company Silver Computing, founded in 1995, has now grown to the giant WebEx Communications, and Susan's goal was to enable students from any country in the world to repeat and surpass its success. Also Susan is one of the founders of Dwight School Canada (grades 6-12 in Vancouver, Canada) - this school was taken as a model when creating the high school Dwight School Seoul (K-12, Seoul, Korea).

Small classrooms (up to 10 people in each) make it possible to individually approach each child, taking into account his needs and requirements, academic opportunities and personal talents. Teachers can more closely monitor progress and achievements, adjusting the studying course if necessary. The ratio of teachers to students is 1: 5, each teacher has a profile certificate that gives the right to teach English as a foreign language. All pupils and teachers know each other by name and in person, which provides a comfortable, friendly environment. In addition, each student is assigned a personal curator who helps with the decision of academic issues, with the definition of the further direction of education, the choice of a university or college. The educational programs are flexible enough and can also be tailored to the needs and requirements of a particular student or group.

Foreign students of Valley International Academy have the opportunity to attend ESL supportive English courses ("English as a Second Language") as a supplement to the core curriculum. The course will help them in a short time to significantly improve the language skills and knowledge, to better understand and accept the material of the educational course, to keep up with their classmates who are native speakers of the language. Effective intensive courses in preparation for the TOEFL exams have been formed.

The school is an active member of several prestigious educational organizations, such as the California Scholarship Federation and the National Honour Society.

According to statistics for 2015, the average score for the SAT exams for the students of Valley International Academy was 1850. For students, 19 subjects of advanced level of study of AP are offered.

Almost all students (90%) are enrolled on a boarding basis and permanently reside on the campus of the Valley International Academy. The total area of the campus is 10 acres - this is one of the most well-groomed, green and infrastructure-equipped areas of the region. The official religion is not accepted here, children of any confession and religion can study at school. The school uniform here is not accepted.

Review about Valley International Academy Private School

I have been studying at this school for two years. There are not so many students in the school, the classes are small. This is a big plus, since during the lessons more time is given to explain the material. I really like the teachers. It is quite interesting to listen to their explanation in the classroom, if something is not clear, you can always ask a question without problems. My results are better compared to my previous place of study. The school is located in the mountains. On weekends, trips to the city and excursions are organized.

Beautiful school with caring and qualified teachers!! For the first time, this school was learned at a consultation with smapse. We were looking for a not-so-expensive international school in the states. To be honest, we were already desperate to find something within our budget, since most of the more or less decent options for boarding houses were more than 60 thousand! Thanks to the manager Smappse David for finding this wonderful option for us! The school has a great location. Away from major cities, but the place is simply stunning in its beauty!! At first, my son constantly sent us photos. The staff was also pleased. The child did not have a very good level of English, but literally in six months it was pulled out. Accommodation and meals for their price were also pleased. We expected a simpler approach. But children are really taken care of here, apparently because the school is not yet particularly known, and the administration is trying to do everything possible to attract new students. Very good option for your money!!

Most of all, Valley International Academy likes the approach of the teachers and the support they give to international students!) This is my first international school and I am very pleased that my parents and I have chosen this option. The school is located in the mountains, so we have a lot of sports on the street, a lot of hiking. Since the school is small, there is not such a large selection of additional classes and sections, but every year there is something new) Therefore, I think it will soon get better with this. We have very good curators at the guesthouse. If you lose something, they will immediately try to help and do everything possible to find the thing)

Hello, I am Mehdi Smir Ali, 14 years old from Iran. I am very interested in studying at a college in the United States or Europe, but due to financial constraints, I have been barred from doing so until I turned to financial aid and scholarships. I have very high grades in math, including geometry, I have a probability that my grade in math is 3.9 out of 4 and I hope to be able to study at your college. Thanks
