Also Susan is one of the founders of Dwight School Canada (grades 6-12 in Vancouver, Canada) - this school was taken as a model when creating the high school Dwight School Seoul (K-12, Seoul, Korea).
Small classrooms (up to 10 people in each) make it possible to individually approach each child, taking into account his needs and requirements, academic opportunities and personal talents. Teachers can more closely monitor progress and achievements, adjusting the studying course if necessary. The ratio of teachers to students is 1: 5, each teacher has a profile certificate that gives the right to teach English as a foreign language. All pupils and teachers know each other by name and in person, which provides a comfortable, friendly environment. In addition, each student is assigned a personal curator who helps with the decision of academic issues, with the definition of the further direction of education, the choice of a university or college. The educational programs are flexible enough and can also be tailored to the needs and requirements of a particular student or group.
Foreign students of Valley International Academy have the opportunity to attend ESL supportive English courses ("English as a Second Language") as a supplement to the core curriculum. The course will help them in a short time to significantly improve the language skills and knowledge, to better understand and accept the material of the educational course, to keep up with their classmates who are native speakers of the language. Effective intensive courses in preparation for the TOEFL exams have been formed.
The school is an active member of several prestigious educational organizations, such as the California Scholarship Federation and the National Honour Society.
