Apprenticeships: Higher and Degree Apprenticeships at the University of Suffolk includes apprenticeships at levels 4-7; the university works with a number of employers in the development and provision of apprenticeship programs. The internship gives students the opportunity to combine work and study, applying academic knowledge in practice. Interns spend at least 20% of their contract time on in-service training, which can be a combination of university studies and training offered by an employer. The university and employer agree on the methods - usually either full-time or block-based training (for example, one full week of university study followed by four weeks of full time), online training, or project work.

  • Athena Hall is a hostel on the Ipswich campus. Despite the fact that the building was built on land owned by the university, it is privately owned. Athena Hall was built in accordance with accreditation standards, taking into account the recommendations of the location manager of the University of Suffolk. The hotel is 300 meters from the Ipswich Waterfront, next to the James Hehir Building. Local shops and amenities are located nearby, and the city center is in a 10-minute walk. Ipswich Main Station is located in 20 minutes.
  • AXO Suffolk is located right next to the Ipswich campus, 300 meters from the waterfront, 10 minutes from the center.
  • Spring Court Residence is located within walking distance of the Ipswich Campus (15 minutes) and Ipswich Hospital (20 minutes). It offers standard rooms in shared apartments, secure parking in the courtyard (at an additional cost).
  • The Ormonde House is a stately 16-bedroom Victorian hotel overlooking Christchurch Park. It has been recently renovated and is ocated in 15 minutes walk from the city center, 25 minutes walk from the Ipswich Waterfront Campus.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

To be admitted to the undergraduate degree, candidates must have one of the following qualifications:

  • International Baccalaureate - 28 points or higher;
  • One year undergraduate program.

For admission to graduate school, applicants must provide:

  • Bachelor's degree equivalent to that obtained from the UK or a recognized university;
  • Applications for applicants without a bachelor's degree are considered on an individual basis, depending on their experience and abilities.

Requirements for English proficiency:

  • IELTS (Academic or UKVI) - 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 for each component, unless otherwise stated on the specific course page.
  • Cambridge Assessment English - B2 First, minimum overall score of 169, 162 or more in each component, or C1 Advanced in Advanced English.
  • TOEFL IBT - 78 points, minimum 12 - reading, 11 - listening, 17 - speaking, 20 - writing.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic) - CEFR B2 level.
  • GCSE / IGCSE - English level C4 or higher.
