The program is designed for foreign applicants who have a higher education (bachelor's degree) and who want to enroll in a master's program at the University of Northampton. IELTS 6.0 level is required for participation, if the level is not sufficient, special courses of English can be passed. Students can choose one of 10 directions, each of which leads to specific master's programs. All courses of study are identical, and they include general disciplines, but at the same time, they focus on the topics needed in the chosen field of science / research.

During this module, students gain knowledge of various skills, such as:

2) Applied concepts

The module is designed to teach students to use various concepts when preparing a written report in a master's program. All students submit a report on self-reflection in written and oral form

3) Research methods for graduate school

This module provides students with an introduction to qualitative, quantitative and mixed research methods. It aims to familiarize students with the skills necessary to conduct various stages of the research project: selecting a topic, writing a research proposal, reviewing literature, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting and defending a dissertation. In the process of education, a research plan is prepared, a mini-study and its protection

4) Creative and critical thinking

The module is designed to help students develop a range of critical and analytical thinking skills necessary for successful master's level education. Students get an understanding of the concepts used in critical thinking; interpret the arguments of others and develop effective arguments, applying them either orally or in writing. Students work in groups and independently, present reports, reflective essays and take part in debates.

University Halls

There is a selection of accommodation available at 3 locations:

University offers single and twin rooms with shared bathrooms or en-suites and complete with halls facilities and services. The rooms are all equipped with network access and WiFi, as well as 24-hour security and a dedicated support team, and all utilities such as electricity, water, gas, and council tax are included in the cost.

Private Sector Housing at UON

The University can help you to find suitable private rental properties. Their Housing Team produces a housing list that provides you with details of properties that meet their high safety standards.

If you choose to live in private rented accommodation you may need to consider costs other than rent, for example utilities, including water and electricity, council tax and car parking.

The food is not included in the accommodation fees and you should budget for it separately. Typical weekly food shopping cost in Northampton is around 35-40 £ a week and the nearest supermarket is just around the corner from the Waterside Student Village and opposite the Town Centre Halls. There is also a food shopping area within 1 bus stop ride of Scholars Green Student Village.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

University of Northampton welcomes applications from foreign students for both Bachelor's and Master's programmes.

  • To enrol onto the 1st year of the University’s Bachelor's degree programme you will be required to hold one of the following qualifications:

1. Completed 1st year at a foreign university

or

2. Diploma of secondary vocational education (basic level)

or

3. Successful completion of International Foundation programme. Graduates of Secondary schools holding the Certificate of Secondary (complete) general Education can complete this programme with the University’s partner pathway provider Navitas at the University of Northampton International College UNIC

or

4. 3 A-levels with grades BCC or  International Baccalaureate Diploma.

  • To enrol onto one of the University of Northampton Master’s degree you will be required to have completed one of the following two qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree (4 years) from any international university

or

2. Specialist Diploma (5 year programme) from a foreign university.

Students who don’t meet the entry criteria can complete a pre-Masters programme in a relevant subject area at the University’s partner pathway provider Navitas at the University of Northampton International College UNIC

For direct entry onto University Bachelor's programme (choose one option or another):

  • Completed 1st year at a foreign university with an average grade of 3,5 or higher
  • Diploma of secondary vocational education (basic level) with an average grade of 3,5 or higher
  • Successful completion of International Foundation programme (55% pass or higher)
  • Graduates of Secondary schools holding the Certificate of Secondary (complete) general Education can complete this programme with the University’s partner pathway provider Navitas at the University of Northampton International College UNIC
  • 3 A-levels with grades BCC or International Baccalaureate Diploma.

For direct entry onto University Masters programme – MA, MSc or MBA:

1. Bachelor's degree (4 years) from an international university or an equivalent qualification from any international university with an average grade 3.8 or higher

or

2. Specialist Diploma (5 year programme) from a foreign University or an equivalent with an average grade 3.5 or higher

Recommendations on when to apply

Language courses, schools and children's language camps Primary and secondary education - private schools Preparation programmes for entering universities - higher education Higher education (after completing accredited programs A-level, IB, High School) - Bachelor, Master, MBA
- we recommend to apply 6-9 months before the start of the course (some camps and schools offer discounts for early booking or for lengthy study programs)
- there are some very popular and high demand children's camps, where the applications need to be submitted 1 year in advance (in particular Switzerland , Great Britain , USA , Canada , Austria)
- we recommend to apply one year before the start of the training program,
- some schools have a specific time frame (September-November - please specify an individual school)
- some schools require tests in several stages (UKISET, internal tests of the school: English, mathematics, logics, subjects, interview, some require a personal visit)
- we recommend to apply one year before the start of the program,
- for Foundation and Pathway programs, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are usually required, respectively

- recommended submission one year before the start of the program,
- the deadline normally closes in January, for TOP HEIs and, as a rule, in March in other universities
- for a bachelor, a Foundation or Pathway preparatory program a completed A-level, IB, High School + IELTS / TOEFL are required
- for Masters you need a graduated higher education, in some cases you need a pre-Masters program
- MBA requires completed higher education, work experience preferably at least 2-3 years, etc.
