Description of University of Exeter

University of Exeter is a multi-discipline high school with one and a half centuries old history. Today, more than 18,500 students study at the University of Exeter, 20% are foreign students. Intercultural environment of the university is formed by representatives of more than 100 countries of the world.

The University started its history in 1855. The educational institution was founded as an art school. University status was received 100 years after the opening. Modern university includes 17 academic schools. The strongest areas in the university are computer science, art, English literature, drama, history. The theater of the educational institution is the best in the region.

The University is actively developing, its educational programs are improved, fully comply with modern academic requirements and international standards. The university is one of TOP-10 educational institutions and research centers in Britain.

X-Media consists of three media divisions: Xpression FM, Exeposé and XTV, providing high-quality radio, news and TV shows. International Foundation

  • The duration of the study is one year.

The International Foundation's pre-university course aims to bridge the academic gap between secondary school and undergraduate education. Throughout the year, international students will improve their knowledge and skills in subjects, English to meet the entry requirements for a bachelor's degree.

Students can choose from 150 tracks, each of which is available in two formats: standard and accelerated. The standard path runs throughout the year, while the accelerated pathway is available to more confident students and contains training for two to three semesters. Successful completion of the course guarantees direct entry into a wide range of degree programmes at the University of Exeter.

About 60% of the course material is devoted to academic modules in selected subjects, forming the core of the program. The modules are flexible and can be adapted to the chosen degree. Subject areas include Business, Biological and Humanities, Engineering, Psychology, Social Sciences.  

Academic English, Study Skills is the core subject that accounts for about 40% of all classes. It covers reading and studying, writing, listening, speaking skills in the context of academic study.

If a student completes 60 module credits in one of the subjects listed below, the words "with knowledge of (e.g., social data science)" will be added to the degree title upon graduation.

The International Year One academic program is comparable to studying in the first year of an undergraduate degree.

The course is specifically designed for international students who demonstrate academic ability but do not meet the university's entry requirements for direct entry to a bachelor's degree.

There are six thematic areas to choose from:
