Every year, the university accepts about 45 new students for each of the hundreds of programs. The maximum number of first-year students is 100, in addition to them, 10 places are additionally reserved for foreign candidates.

The University of Milan joined the Almalaurea Association in 2005 to gather its alumni into a friendly community and monitor employment trends by specialty. Today, Almalaurea encompasses 91% of Italian graduates from 73 local universities. 

Graduates of the University of Milan start working within a year, in rare cases within five years. Depending on the program completed, students either continue their academic journey or get a job.

Foreign candidates must provide the following documents for admission:
