Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) was founded in 1989 and is one of the six public higher education institutions of the Autonomous Community of Madrid. The university got its name in honour of the King of Spain Charles III. The leading areas of education are art and the humanities, management and social sciences, technology and engineering.
UC3M is a member of the European University Association (EUA) and the Open Course Ware Consortium (OCW).
